I think complaining about coaching is usually dumb and reactionary. But that’s seriously inexcusable. You absolutely need to stomp on the Nets in that game and maximize your chance at a ring. Playing your best guys, especially with such a limited bench, is the only way to do that.
Shocking turn of events for a guy that Detroit fans had full confidence would last forever in NOLA.
Look, the NBA needs to stop firing coaches. This madness must stop and every coach must remain in place until Juwan Howard is 80.
Kawhi with a possible ACL injury. Hate to see it.
Thought it was reported it was a sprained knee?
Give the winner the overall seed in the playoffs or a protected seed and they may care. I grew up watching European soccer. It is a much boring sport strategically and aesthetically in my view, yet games were more exciting because there were fewer and all of them mattered one way or another. I know the NBA will not renounce to money, but sure they can be more creative to incentivize competitive games. Edit: I am just repeating what Bacon said before me, sorry I didn’t read it before.
But then they wouldn’t care about the rest of the regular season so that’s just making a different problem
Pluses and minutes to each, but I’m coming around to what alfaro’s said. I’ve had loads of these discussions with football people, and I’ve always been an enthusiastic advocate for the best-of-7 concept, but to me it’s just not working anymore and teams are starting to truly game the system. Often but not always out of need, because it’s a ton of wear and tear on these guys. IMO it’s time to try some things. Maybe adapt the relegation concept in some way.
If you put a mid season tourney the week after the Super Bowl, I think there’d be a lot of interest from fans. It’s always interesting (esp if your team is in contention) to see how everyone stacks up.
I’m enjoying the #NBAonTwitter broadcasts more than the regular ones. They don’t do them for all the games, but right now it’s Channing Frye and Isaiah Thomas casually breaking down the game.
I don’t really have the words to describe this 4th quarter by the Sixers.
Whatever you want to call it I’m enjoying it
After this season, the slander on Trae by a bunch of NBA fans and analysts need to stop. Trae is the real deal and is a star. He plays better when the bright lights are on. He was a stud in the 4th quarter. It’s a rare trade where it worked out for both teams. Dallas got Luka. Atlanta got Trae and Reddish.
The Hawks stole this game from the Sixers. They have to be feeling fantastic after playing bad in the first 3 quarters.
It will take a miracle for the 76ers to recover from this game. Trae Young is a real star
Holy cow … tried to take a night off from playoffs. Just checked espn. Wow. Hawks!
Philly has 3 NBA All-Defensive players to throw at Trae yet Trae doesn’t seem to get fazed by it despite being the smallest player on the court. It’s obvious that he’s comfortable with bigger players guarding him because he’s used to it and knows how to navigate high PnR to his advantage.
Not bad but what about that stupid Pro Bowl week before SB? Maybe too early but if NBA continues to start in October, not awful. Really wish NBA started later w shorter season but that is spitting into the wind.
