The success JB had more than made up for any perceived recruiting mistake.
Recruiting is about who you get and not who you miss out on. You only sign 2-5 guys every year and will miss out on dozens.
JB is not coming back. Heâs gone. He made the decision to leave. Give it up.
No ones arguing otherwise. Just a bit odd that now some people want to hold Beileinâs recruiting philosophy as something to strive for.
Juwan lost nothing by continuing to pursue JC. We already missed on like 5 other SGs. Same with Todd honestly. We even brought in Williams afterwards at the same position.
I just donât understand this mentality at all. Do people not realize that Juwan started all of these recruitments a cycle late? Why not wait until we see the next class before jumping to conclusions. That said, last yearâs class still would have been about on point with the average Beilein class.
I donât care winning is what matters.
I simply stated why JBs misses werenât a big deal, He won a lot of games. Juwanâs wonât matter either if he wins.
Our 2020 class is 5th best among teams with 4 commits and under (Tennessee, Arkansas, Gonzaga and Texas Tech). And Chaundee Brown seems like a very, very good get. Eastern wanted to come too, and while I had worries about his offence even getting to slightly below average, he was worth a scholarship for one year. I have no idea why people would be worried about Juwanâs recruiting.
I know I feel a lot more excited after year 1 than I did day of the hire. Wasnât outright bad at game stuff even though first year as head coach and in college ball. Humble enough to bring in Martelli. Wish heâd have begged Yaklich to stay but yeah, Iâd say an A- overall for me on a year 1 curve because we had an alltime recruiting upset go against us and still got Dickinson/Brown/Williams/Jackson which is a really solid haul. Wagner got better too over the year. Losing DeJulius hurts.
Hindsight, as far as I can see, is almost never 20-20 either. We pissed and moaned like crazy. Itâs just always going to be a highly variegated landscape, filled with contingencies. You need serious distance through time to make any judgements. Thatâs what makes it fun.
Losing two 5 star players in 24 hours and still having the best recruiting class in the Big 10 is pretty good for a first year head coach and a first time recruiter. I think weâll be just fine.
Would taking him out of Wisconsinâs offense take out his propensity to shoot so many mid range jump shots?
Could this be a name to watch for UM, or is this more so just interesting Big Ten news?
Not sure⌠He is Jimmy Kingâs cousin, so thereâs an obvious connection there. Donât think Michigan was involved in his initial transfer recruitment but obviously thereâs an open spot now.
King feels kind of Chaundee Brown-esque to me, personally.
âPersonal reasonsâ for leaving 2 programs within 6 months does not seem very appealing. Plus coincidence or not, Wisconsin really took off after he left their program.
I chalked up Wiskyâs ascent to Potterâs arrival more than Kingâs departure.
Yeah adding a guy with 113.9 ORTG on 29.2 USG who also brings elite rebounding on both ends of the floor will help any team take off.
Yea he was complete game changer, they were pretty scary with him.
Sibande just committed to Pitt
LJ Figueroa to Oregon.
