2020 Transfer Market

Is that an opinion or have you heard something that leads you to say this? I agree that sitting out for a season doesn’t seem likely for someone who has already tested the NBA draft process twice.

Hopefully he realizes he needs to actually develop somewhat of a shot if he’s trying to play in the NBA rather than the NBL

Looking at it from the other side, why would JCL still consider Michigan?

In the hope that Eastern doesn’t get a waiver? Or the hope that Livers doesn’t come back? Juwan can’t sell him on the prospect of Eastern not getting a waiver when he’s going to be trying to get one. JCL could wait for Livers to decide, but I can’t see him choosing to join a team with so many players who started last season. He has other good options.

Balas but dot, Brendan Quinn and Sam Webb seem to all think he’s coming

There’s info out there that’s Eastern is likely staying in the draft, especially if he doesn’t get a waiver (which also is unlikely).

I’m open to the idea that Eastern might not be here if he can’t play next year. Wouldn’t be suprised. But, for now, we know what we know.

I’m fine if Eastern leaves for the NBA if he gets no waiver. Worth the gambit

I don’t know about a lock, but one of those guys is a multi-year B1G starter on a tournement team, and one’s not yet done that. So I’m thinking Eastern, if eligible, is the more likely candidate. Complements Brooks very well. Smith also has the look of a bench scorer – less well-rounded game, but perhaps suited to coming in and doing his thing. But I’m not saying it’s a certainty.

I understand your point, but just don’t agree. Different players and all, but still – “all-conference defense from a multi-year starter” is more valuable to me than "will likely shoot 3s better than ever before though playing at a higher level’’.

I didnt realize there’s much of a step up in competition level from the B1G, Big East and ACC to the B1G. JCL (Big East and B1G) is a 36% career 3pt shooter, while Brown (ACC) is 33% career shooter and known as good defender, rebounder, and finisher. I’d take both starting next to Brooks over Eastern (especially Brown). Eastern is bad offensively but if you had a more dynamic guard to complement him I could se it working. Now if you’re talking Mike Smith I’d agree, rather have Eastern getting more minutes.

“According to multiple sources, Michigan’s chances at landing Wake Forest shooting guard Chaundee Brown are looking positive.”

Sam Webb quote-tweeted this saying “co-sign”, so that’s interesting.

Very interesting. Like Eastern, I can see how he might fit better next year than this year, but I would still be happy if he was immediately eligible.

I understand why everyone thinks that about eastern but I don’t think he will have much of a choice. He hasn’t done anything to make any professional team in any semi legit league to even consider offering him a deal. I think even if he has to sit he’s going to realize he isnt getting any legit offers. Its Iraq or the Philippines for him at best or some low level league with poor pay and little chances.

I can’t even see him on a g league roster really and if he is he would get no burn. I think he will see he needs the year to improve and he could be in line for major minutes as one of the only upperclassmen on a young team where he could be a main hall handler.

I’m curious if Covid makes getting a waiver easier this year

What are the chances that both Brown and Eastern are able to join the active roster this season?
