It was surprising to me UM and MSU didn’t reach out, almost makes me wonder if he was expecting them too and when they didnt he wasn’t happy with the options left.
At the time of transfer I believe he stated he might go back…
Also cunzo aint long for that mizzou job it appears
He did. It’s not super uncommon that Grad transfer prospects list their old school but ones as good as Turner normally don’t go back when they have a lot of high major options.
Could there have been other red flags that provided that a lot of programs chose not to engage heavily with him? It’s one thing when he is your guy and to continue to deal his baggage, it’s entirely another if you have the willing choice to inherit that baggage
Were the
little light?
Times is tough!
All I saw was “Prediction: ASU” and had to do a double take
So now that we have a need, can we reach out to Justin Turner and convince him not to go back to Bowling Green?
Just looking through some transfers. Justin Kier is an interesting name. Second-best available grad transfer after Matt Haarms and he has a top ten but apparently his recruitment is still open according to him. Recovering from a foot injury that held him to nine games last year, but started all three years before that.
I’m sure Coach Howard and staff are on the grind seeing if there is anyone they missed or who they feel can come in and help right away.
Link to stats and ESPN blurbs on their transfer page.
Played only nine games last season due to a foot injury, but averaged 14.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in 2018-19. Showed an improved jumper as his career progressed, making 45.8% of his 3s in the 2019-20 season.
Played more than 30 minutes a game for a team that was fighting for an NCAA tournament berth until the final weeks. Averaged 8.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists. Started his career at Vanderbilt.
Antonio had an up-and-down season in the desert, but a long list of schools have reached out. Finished his season with 13 points and nine boards against Boise State. Averaged 6.9 points.
Betley made his transfer plans known before the season but didn’t enter the portal until the campaign ended. Averaged double figures all three healthy seasons with the Quakers, including 11.6 points and 5.8 rebounds this season.
Bolden was a consistent contributor for South Carolina last season, averaging 8.5 points and shooting better than 41% from 3-point range. Averaged 11.2 points in 2017-18 at George Washington.
Blah. Not much there to get hopes up. I get we might need another grad for depth but the pickings are sliiiiim.
That is why I would go with what we got unless something cray comes our way
Yeah if the only options are meh, I’d rather just play Zeb and Bajema and develop them for the future
Justin Kier or just stick with what we have.
I think in all likelihood, we don’t make any more moves. Unless both Todd and Livers aren’t on the team next year.
The problem with that is that is an extremely real possibility. Moreso than people would like to know or admit.
