Yes I read that. Not techy enough to transfer it to here though. Thanks!

Yes, I think the announcement was made yesterday. Not sure how that will impact a guy like Franz going forward if UM were to go predominantly online at some point in the pandemic.
I cant verify the truth to this statement but a couple of the comments in the post state that Franz would have to leave the country
If athletes start getting caught up it will get reversed. Will probably get reversed anyway cause it’s wildly unpopular and makes little sense anyway
It makes sense if needless cruelty is the point.
I was going to post something about this earlier today but thought it could get too political. Yes, a particular administration has announced that incoming international students would not receive a student visa if their college or university offered only online classes this fall. If those students are already here they would have to return to their home country. I am pretty sure I am stating that correctly but I’m also sure someone will correct me if I’m not.
Sounds like the Dr. thinks there would be nothing to worry about unless ICE gets a call to round them up.
Well, Michigan is planning a hybrid schedule of in person classes combined with online classes. The DHS calls specifically speaks to exclusively online classes. Nevertheless, I really appreciated Dr. Schlissel’s strong statement and the position taken by the AAU which was a rather scathing indictment of this administration’s policy as announced by the DHS.
The administration is simply trying to pressure universities to have students on campus as they continue to downplay the virus.
MIT and Harvard have filed a joint lawsuit against Homeland Security and ICE. I would assume that many others would try to join in. Too much money is at stake for these universities for them to lose international students.
I don’t see that the universities can justify that the students need to be physically in US if all educational activities are to be operated online. And frankly I don’t see certain subjects can be effectively taught without having students at labs in person, and I don’t see the high tuition can be justified by offering only online options.
Given how 2020 has gone, I can only assume this will be bad news.
So what would happen if Livers decided to stay and we find out soon after there will be no college ball? Can he then leave and try to work on his pro prospects in a more effective way than being a part of a college team that isn’t playing? That would have to weigh pretty heavily into the decision imo.
the NBA at least has its bubble figured out. the NCAA has no central nervous system right now for its fall sports. so I’m expecting departure.
If it’s a Friday afternoon news drop gotta assume he’s gone here
Upsetting but understand with the uncertainty why he would depart Michigan
