I can’t tell, are you being sarcastic?
Can be as sarcastic as we want but he CLEARLY didn’t work on shooting in college.
He was referencing me in an old argument.
ok.
I think the idea that a kid who made first-team all-conference three consecutive years was not dedicated to working on his game is pretty silly?
Everybody is just bad at some things - Happ was bad at shooting.
Don’t even try. Not worth it.
I think everyone knows I disagree on how hard he worked ha.
Obviously won’t rehash the argument!
No disagreement there. I’m just saying it’s a lot to absorb for a transfer, not just on D but on offense as well. The last GRAD transfer, Simmons, struggled moving to the B1G and then learning the system quickly. My point is more about the short timeframe than ability. Jarron was able to give good minutes but not until the tournament. I’m not saying he can’t do it…just a heavy lift unless you are exceptional.
Even Charles mentioned it’s a completely different mind set when he came in from Kentucky…stairs!
I was going with Reuvers starting at the 4, because I assume Potter is gonna play starter level minutes since they’re so thin on the interior. But yeah, I could see them using their 7 main guys in a variety of starting lineups.
I think the good news for us is that Cumberland won’t be asked to should a lot of responsibility, and we’ll probably have the simplest offense that we’ve run in a while next year. I would guess that we break the Michigan record again for most percentage of plays that are ball screens.
Good point…maybe the complexity changes a bit next year. Someone will need to score from three for success. We should know soon, I would expect the team would like to get him in class/Gym ASAP.
Sam has a piece coming up on TMI about Cumberland and his recruitment/visit. He didn’t say much on the RR this morning other than it’s his belief that Michigan has moved into the pole position for the young man.
I like the kid. I think he can help us. But most importantly if our staff wants Jaevin Cumberland that’s all I need to know. I hope we get good news on that front soon. Today? Tomorrow? Soon.
Seems like it’s Cumberland or bust for grad transfers at this point.
Those are some… interesting teams given he originally cited distance from Chicago as a reason he was leaving Iowa.
In the words of Patrick Beverly, Fayetteville feels just like Chicago.
There was a lot of speculation about being close to home and Illinois or Loyola, but I don’t think Moss ever said that publicly or has said anything publicly fwiw.
Might’ve been a 24/7 guy saying that as rationale after Loyola emerged as a possibility. Of course now they’re not even listed so idk.
Article says he received an offer Tuesday.
I know it’s a big decision, but it seems like Cumberland would have committed by now if Michigan were his choice. He obviously knows the school, the coaches and likely some of the players. Maybe they are waiting on grad school admissions? Hopefully it’s not a case of him waiting for something “better” to come along.
It’s still very soon after his visit. Sam Webb said if it drags out another week then to maybe get concerned about that.
I hear ya. I just get nervous when a player has all the reason in the world to pick us and they drag the process out. That often doesn’t end well for us for a variety of reasons.
It’s still a big decision for these kids so there is no need to rush it. I mean, he has no competition for the scholarship so he may as well take his time. Plus, in the article it said he would be making a decision soon. I’m not sweating…yet.
