I seem to recall them even switching away from a Michigan game - in Michigan - for another game. It’s amazing how fans tolerated that awful broadcast situation for years.

It’s pretty crazy to think back on. Even more crazy on how it was just the norm. It was just something that came with how the tournament was broadcasted - never was a thought on adding it to other owned channels. (Although there obviously wasn’t a ton back then.)
Also reminds me that I miss Gus Johnson doing tournament games.

I was just thinking about this. This might be the first time I can ever remember in my lifetime where the last 16 teams standing are really the best sixteen teams in college ball. I’m looking at the brackets and I honestly believe the best 16 teams are left.

It just occurred to me that one of Tony Bennett, Rick Barnes, Matt Painter or Dana Altman is going to make the Final Four this year

What dies this mean
I think Barnes is a historically laughable coach, Painter and Bennett have never been to a Final Four, and Altman has the least talented team left in the tournament on paper
Or the fact that all 4 are probably at/near the top of the list of tournament chokers/underachievers, though probably unfairly in Painter’s case.

The more I read about Tech’s offense, the more I think we are particularly well-suited to guard it. Elite defenders to match up against all of their creators, and how regularly we switch 1-4 should do a lot to neuter their off-ball motion.

Painter is a great coach in my opinion. He’s had to play so many tournament games with massive injuries to his roster it’s not fair.

Altman made the Final Four two years ago and the Elite 8 a year before that. He’s got a nice little run going.and a pretty impressive resume.
