Hearing different! Beverly would be a great addition.
With his big performance at the Nationals was thinking he may have played his way to the top echelon of offers unfortunately.
Beverly has been on campus before (correct me if I’m wrong), did he do the necessary tour to get an offer or does he need to visit again?
On top of the obvious skill, I like his enthusiasm. Kid would be a crowd favorite.
I believe that he never did the full academic tour
I realize that Quinones could fill Beilein’s bill a little better, but something about Beverly is pretty captivating. Plays with an enthusiasm that would impress our football coach. And if it’s a guy to get buckets in isolation. . . Realize it may not be an either/or situation, anyway.
I like seeing him finish with both hands. Could definitely help with the roster composition to give them a guy who can create off the bounce.
He wouldn’t dribble the air out of the ball either. The offensive flow would be pretty good. He’s usually quick with the ball he either attacks, shoots or swings it. Rarely does a lot of iso size up dribbles.
BP has Bama always been good with him or did Nate make them strong?
Nate Oats being there was what created that chatter. I don’t think Bama is a real player for him now though since Lewis is staying.
Brian Snow is really pumping up Bama and saying that Mich has no chance. His biases tend to result in him making wrong reads though.
Where does he mostly contribute? Talking about Snow.
Where did he say UM had no chance?
Thanks.
He is a 247 mostly Midwestern recruiting guy. His diploma from Ohio St requires him to downplay Michigan’s chances in most anything. He chimed in a lot on one of the Beverly threads you started on that board. Not sure if that is where he said UM has no shot though.
Last I read he opined that UM had a lot ground to make up, not that they had no chance.
I may need to go back and see if there is something more recent.
Seems to be hot and cold with UM fans, mostly cold. Frankly don’t follow the guy enough to have a legit read.
Thanks.
I’m not a recruiting guy, admittedly, but given that the kid is from Southfield and played in Michigan before moving, and we didn’t offer him, isn’t there the possibility he simply doesn’t feel wanted?
Yeah his bias is always creeping through. His comments about Michigan recruits are often very passive aggressive. I don’t think he said Michigan has no chance, but he definitely downplayed their chances big time. I believe he termed it a major uphill fight, named several other teams that had a better shot and said Beverly doesn’t like the style of play in the big ten.
I listen to Snow, but tend to take a lot of what he says with a grain of salt when it comes to Michigan. He almost enjoys being combative.
You can go from not being wanted to being wanted. Relationships aren’t necessarily static, and neither are hoops recruitments.
As mentioned below, Brian stated that Harlond’s Dad and Uncle? Not sure if those are the 2 accurate players in his circle with the hate the Big 10 style of play take, but that is supposedly UM’s biggest hurdle according to Snow. All I know is there always seems to be an Uncle.
