42 tonight… Who did they play? I like greg a lot i can see him being a nice college player
Played DEPSA.
If Greg was a couple inches taller I would offer now and worry about Bamba later if he decides to come to AA.
Thing escalating quick with Greg, he’s visiting MSU tomorrow vs Michigan. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him offered at some point very soon. For anybody thinking Greg isn’t a high major player at this point, I think the time has come to admit that you are probably wrong. Really hoping Michigan makes a move before its too late here
Who is saying this?
A few people here, not going to call them out individually. Doesn’t serve a purpose. But when people say ‘well, if he’s so good, how come he only has MM offers’…does that not inherently imply that he’s not a HM player? You tell me
Definitely seems to be trending upward, and while I won’t speak for others, I do think he deserves our full attention. Question is, do you offer given the risky wait for a Bamba decision?
If its me, then yes I would offer. I say that because I don’t think Mo Bamba is coming to Michigan. Again my analysis is this - is Greg likely to be an instant impact freshman, and to that I say no. So then the question becomes can we find a better wing in the 17 class at this point, to that I say no as well. The next question is whether we can land an instant impact grad transfer at the wing, to that I say no. So the final question is whether a sophomore Greg is better than an 18 prospect in both 18 and long term - to that I say yes, definitively. Offer him already
This discussion should be, and seems to be, around how Elliott would fit at Michigan much more than whether he’s a high-major player. As has been the case all along, I think there are valid points on both sides of that argument.
How is ‘fit’ defined to you? If I’m understanding that correctly, I could care less about fit, and more about ‘need’. Just my take
Fit is literally everything you listed above… Fit in the class, fit in future classes, fit on the roster, etc.
Whats the argument not to offer Greg other than waiting for Bamba? His 3ball? Are some not confident in his ball skills? I don’t even see it as Greg vs 2018 wing/guard since UM can take both but I definitely prefer him to any prospect that has had contact in 2018 save Jamal Bienemy.
Well by that criteria…its a no brainer to offer assuming Bamba is not coming. I assume he’s not, so offer. End of story
Like Jamal’s handle better, but Greg definitely a better athlete with more physical room to grow. More upside there.
And yep, we’ve established that was your take (three weeks ago).
Greg has more verticality but a few rungs below in change of direction. Smaller with less length, too. Like Jamal’s vision more which is saying something because I think Greg has great feel.
What is the other side of the argument? I legitimately haven’t heard one other than waiting for Bamba which I think is valid to an extent.
Have been waiting for this moment. Did you have those same sort of snarky remarks over the past week or so when I’ve been saying ‘Eli Brooks is a tremendous shooter’…over fifty times.
Just food for thought Dylan. Don’t think your comment was necessary, and you’re selectively doing that sort of thing in my opinion. Your board though, and I have to play by your rules.
I like both for sure. Slightly different, but very similar in many regards.
Banking the scholarship is the alternative, for a grad or '18.
