Cassius Winston and Jermaine Jackson, Jr. will be on campus today, per Webb.
Should we be on commit watch?
Cassius is also out for 6-8 weeks with a broken wrist. http://www.freep.com/story/sports/high-school/2015/05/13/cassius-winston-u-d-jesuit/27258807/

There were rumors last night that we are now the team to beat for Cassius

Let’s call it the Battle Impact!
Hypothetical for you guys:
Webb opined that Battle may have beaten out Langford for a spot. Langford was a UM/UF race and with Donovan gone, UM sat in a really good spot, and it blew everyone’s doors off that Battle took the spot out of the blue.
So the question is, if you have one spot to play with, do you make a hard sell to Langford knowing you are right there for him, and live off of combo guards in MAAR, Langford, and Battle, and a freshman PG in 17, or are you all in on Winston, and whoever they like as a secondary true PG to Winston if they miss?
I am not going to lie, I think there is enough ball handling, and shot creation out of the 3 combos, that I am not sure I wouldn’t be afraid to go that route. I think I would hard sell Langford on the idea until the fall and see what happens. If Cassius wants to pop before then, so be it. Take it and run.
Personally, I’m with MattR - don’t think Langford is a pure PG by any stretch, but I do think he’s a better ballhandler and passer in relation to Battle, and I think he’s fully capable of running PnR and being effective in that role, and compliments Battle nicely and vice versa.
From a purely positional standpoint (at least the offensive end), no doubt Winston is a better fit at the PG spot. But from a net impact on the team, there is no doubt in my mind that Langford is the better fit because he simply brings more to the table. Good ballhandler, good passer, good shooter, good rebounder…he just does many things very well. Well rounded player
Wouldn’t it be great if we got another out of the blue commit this weekend? Who would of thought on Monday morning our recruiting could take such a dramatic shift in the positive in one weeks time!
Could we be on commit watch for Winston this weekend?
What sources were reporting us as his now possible leader? Any quotes on it?
Bacari is certainly in a good mood today. Doesn’t feel like an “I know something” kind of mood, but optimism nonetheless.

From what I’ve gathered the sources are Tom Beaver’s replacement on Scout, and a UM alum (name is Don Matson or something) who is supposedly known to be connected in the program.

You are referring to Dot. Many on here know him from other boards. He verified it but so did another scout employee who is typically a football guy but said he had a contact on this one who was in the know.

Mark Dotson.
Would love to get Langford also. Something in my gut just tells me that Winston will be ready to pull the trigger before Langford.
Langford is still in play for us.

Don’t know if he’s changed his tune, but at one point Webb stated something along the lines that ‘UM should probably stop wasting their time’ in relation to Langford.
When I spoke to Cassius at EYBL he was pretty adamant that he wasn’t very close to making a decision. Was focused on basketball more than recruiting and wanted to take officials before making his choice.
Things can always change, but would be a big shift.
Webb never said that. In fact he said, right before Donovan left he said that it’s a Michigan/Florida battle. Langford’s father said the Battle pledge helps Michigan. We are right there for JL. Maybe even more so now.
When Davis preps and is moved to '17, and inevidebly go through some type of attrition, we will have the room… IF JL wants Michigan…
I’m with the Matts. Not married to a pure PG, just against having to wait 12m and ending up with something lesser. If either Langford or Winston wanted the offer (they may not right now), I would take first who calls as both have benefits and neither should be deprioritized.
