UCLA is really turning the heat up on him. Do we have any idea of the timetable on Towns? Is he going to wait until next fall or spring or what?
As others have mentioned, Towns does not appear to be in a rush to commit. His recruitment is blowing up right now, and while I think UM is in a good spot right now, I don’t necessarily think we’re “the school” anymore. Just my opinion though, no inside info

Reminds me of a smaller version of Greg Monroe/Othella Harrington. Not really impressed with his game to be honest. Don’t see the need when we have Teske and Cook is better
Appears as though Towns is improving athletically. If he takes a significant leap in that department he is certainly a top 50 player.
Small piece on Towns on his open gym play from this weekend:
“Sunday’s top scorer and top overall player, Towns continued an outstanding fall by averaging 9.5 points per game in the four 10-minute scrimmages we saw him in. A skilled wing forward with a versatile offensive skill set, Towns had his way with defenders all day long, attacking both off the dribble and with the step-back jump shot. Towns would also show more athleticism, throwing down a ferocious one-handed alley-oop slam from Dennis midway through the afternoon. The No. 3 ranked player in Ohio’s 2016 class according to our rankings, Towns is building great momentum heading into what appears to be a big-time junior season. At the moment, Michigan leads at 73 percent over UCLA (27 percent) on 247Sports’ Crystal Ball predictions”

Somehow I’m starting to think Towns ends up elsewhere…would love to have him here.
Less optimistic about Leaf in relation to Towns
2016 TJ Leaf will be at Florida on October 11th and Arizona on October 18th for red-white game Duke on October 25 Tyleaf_22 @becb_sbn

Why does that seem to keep happening lately? We really need a couple of our top 2016 prospects to jump aboard and get the momentum rolling
I just think UM is a placeholder for many kids until they get better offers. If we continue to go deep in March, that will be fixed, but we need at least 2 more consecutive years in my opinion before it truly pays off - essentially we need kids to view UM as an established program during their middle school years rather than being the new kid on the block when they are sophmores-seniors
I am more optimistic about Leaf than Towns. I’ve always been a fan of Towns. At the beginning, it was more about what he brought off the court (smart, seems like a good kid, etc.), but more and more with each video, it is about what he brings on the court. But Leaf is still better on the court. But we’ll probably need more 3-point shooting in that class.
What’s interesting about Towns is I haven’t seen much Ohio State interest. Perhaps that’s what he’s waiting for and would jump on it if they offered? And maybe he’s getting a lot of pressure from friends/family to look at more non-Michigan options? I don’t know. He seems like a mature kid, so it’s probably just the simplest explanation that he wants to make a thorough, well-researched decision - probably his biggest decision he’s ever made.
Re: OSU - Mitchell (a 4 for 15) recommitted recently - probably explains lack of interest
I’m thinking Towns is a Plan B type option for OSU

That makes UM, Iowa, Purdue from B10, with UCLA likely in the near future

Just a tidbit that I have first hand knowledge of - UM has been keeping tabs/watching Kyle Hayes from Arbor Prep in MI - 6’6 - 6’7 PF - definitely needs to get stronger, and I think he’s very much a plan B type of guy right now. Don’t know if this has been reported/confirmed by any of the major sites, but UM has definitely made their interest known in the past 2-3 weeks
