The State of UM Basketball

Irvin certainly isn’t going to have another game like this. Not so sure about DJ, just as I praise him for stringing together a few games, the charmin boy comes out again. Consistency is the difference between above average and good.

I’m not as confident in this as you seem to be

DJ also isn’t going to meet up with a ton of defenders that are vastly stronger than him but also matching his length and athleticism like he came up today against Bridges. He was scared going against him. I think it’ll be pretty easy to show him on the tape that he left a lot of points on the court by being conservative.

I mean he literally cannot play at a level below what he displayed today.

But Bacon there were times where he was wide open. To be candid, he played like a b&tch

Bacon - serious question for you. Do you think Greg Elliott would be afraid of Miles Bridges?

I don’t disagree. Which is why when he watches the tape, he’s gonna easily see that he could have done a lot more with just even a little more aggression. First significant PT he’s had on the road in a rivalry game. Isn’t the first nor the last guy to freeze up.

The fact you have to post so many hypotheticals speaks to the fact that the offense is not fine. Acceptable for this roster but there are glaring flaws especially with an offensive-aligned coach like JB who won’t make it up at the other end.

No idea and not sure it’s relevant

He has the flu and missed practice yesterday, but still, he plays like that often enough when he’s 100%.

We’ll beat MSU at home, they’re not special.

Still like his potential as a true wing. I’ll have to eat Crowe on my ‘give him Iso touches on the wing’ request, as he looked really shaky a few times today but he nearly dropped a defender on another occasion.

This teams margin for error is too slim to experiment unfortunately, which is a shame. I think DJ may have it in him to be a creator with reps

This game sucked.

Thankfully, I think Michigan can still head into the Wisconsin game sitting at a formidable 17-8 (7-5).

I think the big takeaway from losing this game is that we don’t have many opportunities to win on the road left. Come selection Sunday, that won’t sit well with the committee. I don’t see how we make the tournament if we do not have a road win on our resume, and more specifically, a quality road win.

I sure wish we would’ve waited Cassius Winston out now

I don’t think road wins are a huge deal tbh. Record, RPI, SOS are the big ones.

I normally agree but the B10 being garbage this year really exposes Michigan in that regard.

Most of the people on here wanted Goodin…whose going through the same mental adjustments as X. I spoke glowingly about Cassius while people were unsure of his shot and athleticism but give X some time. PG is the position with the biggest learning curve at every level, bigmen the longest development curve.

I think we are a lock if we get to 21 wins and probably in with 20. As long as we win the games we will be favored in I like our odds.

Have to agree Winston would be a massive Upgrade over X. He’s better than I anticipated for sure. That said, Quentin Goodin isn’t struggling in the same way that X is. Simpson is just downright terrible, no other way to describe it. Almost to the point where you simply cannot play him vs legit comp

Credit to him, had probably his best game of his career against the other team that recruited him heaviest. But we lost this game, Zak and DJ (our two highest scorers in conference play) didnt show up
