I think we should play 100 extra quarters!!!
Who played and scored in the extra quarter? I imagine Johns, Dejulius and Nunez got a lot of run?
I would assume so.
Kind of a disappointing outcome when compared to their game vs Kentucky. I guess this backs up what Dylan’s take on the team has been all offseason.
By my estimation, we are currently 44 points behind Kentucky which when applying The Beilein Exchange Rate formula means we will be two rounds of postseason play better than them come March.
I wouldn’t overreact. I think it is important to remember that a team like Mega is ramping up to their actual season and Michigan is spending their days exploring a foreign country in the offseason.
But there are obviously real concerns with this team scoring the ball. I just don’t think how they look now without Beilein says much other than where he’s starting this whole process.
Not surprising that we’re still feeling out who we are. However, this team is going to struggle to score the ball consistently all season.
No real comparison to the Kentucky game score, as they’re on a different strata when it comes to athletes and athleticism then us.
Easier to exploit BeMax when it’s turned into a full court up and down game.
What was Dylan’s take?
Whether Iggy has any interest in playing D or not, he will garner major minutes come regular season.
It’s really not feasible to this team having any success minus him on the court. To limited offensively.
What can you really expect to get consistently from Teske, Livers, and Simpson on a regular basis?
The games in the Bahamas were also played with NCAA not FIBA rules, FWIW.
Well playing without Wagner is going to be a big adjustment for them. He was such a game changer as a 5 who was a threat to shoot from 3 and put the ball on the floor. He changed the way teams defended us and opened up a lot of opportunities for everyone else.
Rahkman was also such a solid and steady player. This is going to be a very new and different team. Really only X and Matthews have played big minutes in college before.
I think we also underestimate how much of a transition it will be for most of the freshmen. Iggy may be the exception while the others take more time to develop. I think some people assume DeJulius can not only be the backup PG right away but also challenge Simpson. I know Brooks really struggled last year but odds are he’s going to be further along than DeJulius at least early in the season and who knows, maybe all year.
There are always lots of questions that we are unsure of going into the season. There certainly were the last 2 years and most of them were answered positively. I would expect this to be a much better team in November than they are right now and then much better in Jan and ultimately in March. Will that be good enough to contend for a Big 10 title or another nice tourney run, I have no idea.
Understood. But we don’t have the kind of roster that can exploit you full court like Kentucky can. Not really news there.
Yep. If Kentucky and Michigan played tomorrow in the Bahamas, Ann Arbor, or Catalonia there’s little doubt who would win.
Everybody already knows it, but without Wagner this is such a different looking team going forward.
He was such a huge asset in spacing the floor.
Irony here is that there’s nothing published about the game at any of the Detroit papers… Shea Patterson is speaking in public so that goes on the backburner.
And that is why this is a ‘niche’ website
Embarassing
Our young team will get better every week/month from here on out.
Lol wow they are pretty excited about that exhibition win
