Should JB look at transfers more?

Was thinking this yesterday before the news came out about the PG that we inquired about. In particular for the 17 class where we are really going to need a couple of impact scorers to take the spots of Walton and Irvin. Gives the transfer a year of learning the system and working on skills before taking on a big role. Think more of wings compared to PG in particular saw Prine Ali from UCLA might be transferring.

Also although probably zero chance of happening but Hawaii players with one year left can transfer without sitting out. Two interesting players who could come in at the 4 are Stefan Jankovic and Mike Thomas.

He should look at every possible way to get better. See the problems and fix them.

They can bog down the scholarships but they certainly have their place.

I like transfers. Proven commodities. Add one or two every year or two and it helps with instant know. Results un like a frosh. Also after striking out on all these frosh maybe we can do better with transfers. They understand the game more and could see how they fit/ learn from coach b to get better. We were after Ali right? Makes sense to target him again. He probably sees the writing on the wall with ball coming in. No way he’s starting over ball. Might not ever get a chance to start

Also I’m interested in the unlv kids. We should hop on them to. They can transfer right away afteroso g coach right? Lots of kids to shake the branches on and see who wNts out. Check in on goodluck/ Jackson. Few other top fifty kids might leave to.

At this point unless we really start to see major interest from guys this summer I’d start to scour the transfers to team up with Jordan. I like this cane news and prince Ali is interesting to with our past interest. All these sound like better options than the back up pg that coach b has been showing interstin. I meAn I know cane is three years older than west but they seem light years away in talent. Add some muscle and weight to cane and he’d be a great scorer anywhere.

Aldo we have so many young guys I think we can afford to let a guy sit. Do we need instant impact guys? Ye it would help but next year the team is fairly well set and looks like we could afford to let cane sit. There isn’t much room for playing time as is unless it’s a star coming in which doesn’t seem to be the case. Then Derrick and zach leave which opens up minutes perfect for cane and a wing man/ tweener four to get minutes and looks. It actually makes a lot of sense to add a transfer l/ redshirt type with the current make up

Broome is probably going to have his fair share of D1 choices. Is there anything that should make me optimistic about our chances?

Just watched some games of cane in high school and some college highlights of last year. In each video he has a real knack for scoring. Above average hAnfdlr/ quick to the rack with elevation. He also has a nice pull up inside the arc. Not much video of him on d .Plays much like iverson. Not nearly as good but picture that type of game. Scoring pg who’s really a sg but to small for that. The defense I did see was so decent Seemed willing to play it but got beat a few times because of his size and strength. Just like Kyle young this kid has won me over from these videos. I really hope we land him at this point and make him a priority.

I think we can sell him on opportunity. Walton will be out and Xavier a first year starter. Jordan a froshas well. Broome would have ample playing time chances. I really like him. He reminds me of a transfer pitino would land. We could really use his scoring after losing Walton and Irvin. He could step right in and give us a scoring threat we could really use. I’m really hoping coach b can get this done along with young.

After watching film of him in high school I can’t figure out why he didn’t get bigger offers. He looked like a high d one player in a lot of film

It’s funny you say Pitino because I was getting a Russ Smith vibe watching Broome’s film. Obviously part of what made Smith so good was his defense and who knows what Broome offers there.

Yes that’s the vibe I was getting. He always has those super quick skinny to the rack guys. Full court press em kids.
