Running some numbers to work on a post… Thought this could be fun.
-Rank the top five Big Ten schools in terms of top-50 recruits signed in the last 6 classes (2010-2015) and last 3 classes (2013-2015) and guess where each school ranks nationally on both lists.
Bonus: Guess how many top-50 recruits Kentucky has signed in the last 6 years.
Hopefully these are all correct (blame my pivot tables) ...
Last Six Classes OSU (7th nationally in that span), 10 top 50 kids
Indiana (14th), 7
MSU (16th), 6
Maryland/Maryland (T-17th), 5
Last Three Classes OSU/Indiana (11th nationally in that span), 4 top 50 kids
Michigan/Maryland (T-14th), 3
MSU/Illinois (T22nd), 2
Kentucky has signed 25 top 50 kids in the last six classes.
Wisconsin signed 1 top 50 kid in the last six classes.
I assume you mean Maryland/Michigan (or Michigan/Maryland) in the last line of the last six classes?
Michigan looks pretty good, especially compared to the rest of the B1G. And it’s not including Wagner, of course.
Top 50 probably works in Michigan’s favor a bit. If you’d said top 25, Michigan would probably look worse compared to the top, especially in the past 3 years.
