I’m not getting involved in this thing, but Noah is better than Cousins and it’s really not that close. I’d bet 85% of the GMs would take Noah over Cousins too.
Yea, I think it will be a key for his success in the first few months. I trust JB and the staff to get him into game shape for the B1G. How fast he progresses only time will tell.
Think of this, at full speed Caris can get to the hoop with one dribble over half court. That is incredible speed and length…it’s just a different game than High School. I’m not questioning his ability, character or skill…just his transition from HS to one of the best hoops conferences in the country. All freshmen need the game to slow down and I suspect they will all struggle at some point…but those that have the high level game experience will come out faster.
Go Blue!
Dawkins is not a Better Shooter Than GRIII… Show me how you have come to this Conclusion.
Agree with Guestavo - Dawkins will play a similar role as GR3, not as athletic, but a better shooter. Doesn’t have the midrange shot off the bounce like Irvin though. Pretty much agree though…he is our backdoor cutter and garbage man of the future, will bring momentum plays on oops, etc.
Yeah. I would take Noah over Boogie Cousins and it wouldn’t be that tough of a decision. I think most of the NBA would feel the same way.

At the same stage of their respective developments it’s not even close. Go back and look at HS film of GR3 and tell me he has the range that Dawkins has right now. Quite frankly Dawkins might be a better shooter from distance than GR3 right now. Appears as if GR3 is a better midrange shooter, but that’s not what we need from Dawkins, we need him to hit the corner 3 to keep defenders honest and prevent lane congestion on Caris and Walton.

Sacramento would trade Cousins for Noah in a California minute.
Player A, 23 years old:
26.18 PER. 22.7 PPG, 11.7 RPG, 2.9 APG, 1.5 SPG, 1.3 BPG
Player B, 27 years old:
20.06 PER. 12.6 PPG, 11.3 RPG, 5.4 APG, 1.2 SPG, 1.5 BPG
Yup, teams would much rather have Player B’s production. lol…
Wow you guys have some good energy here! Regardless of athleticism Doyle has to prove he can run with the thoroughbreds...UM runs an up tempo offense! The best in the country over the past two years....if Ricky can run the floor he will play, Wilson can run the floor!Did you see Mitch in the summer league…he’s a freaking beast running up and down the floor! If Doyle can run he’ll play or he’ll take the Morgan route and hits the stairs in Chrysler with Sanderson…
Keep it going guys its awesome!!!
ESPN’s scouting report:
Strengths:
He’s got a history of basketball in the family. His father had a cup of coffee with the Detroit Pistons before playing overseas. He’s receiving good coaching in high school and improved from his freshman to sophomore season. Could be a kid who plays pick and pop to mid-range. Runs well and changes ends with decent touch in the lane. Like that already owns a hook shot and has ways to score in the lane.

Look around the league. Tons of players put up stats on shit teams. Cousins talent is there, but Noah is talented and a great teammate. Gimme Noah any day of the week.

You knew to following this sport or just new to statistics? Most players that put up awesome stats on shitty teams see a decrease in their efficiency. DeMarcus Cousins was 5th in the entire NBA in Player Efficiency Rating behind only Durant, LeBron, Love, and Davis.
For some reason you guys think being 5th overall in Player Efficiency is terrible.
Also, if the team cancer and headache thing is what you’re basing your decision off then that is not relevant to this topic. We are discussing body types / playing styles and how they translate to production. The only thing that is keeping Cousins from being elite is his antics. He’s got all world talent with less-than-impressive athleticism which is my point. Cousins and Sullinger are examples of being successful without being above average athletically.
Hail…I can’t dispute what ESPN says but its hard to evaluate his ability until he plays agianst the best in the B1G. He runs well…he’ll need to in this league. I was commenting more on his level of competiton than his ability. Lets hope he’s ready!
Putting u[ garbage stat production on a bad team means nothing.
Doing it with elite efficiency (5th in the entire NBA) means something. 23 points, 12 rebounds, and the 5th most efficient player in the game. BUM!
No one is saying Cousins is garbage but he aint Noah and majority of his production doesn’t lead to wins.
Not his fault the team sucks. 26.18 PER is impressive especially with that amount of usage. I thought you were good with advanced stats? Must have been someone else.
I’m not going to but my life on the line with a stat that puts Kevin Durant outside of the top 10 players in basketball, but you go ahead. Are Andre Iguodala and Patrick Beverly top 5 players?
Hint: you have to look at the amount of possessions.
I know it’s a little late, but I wanted to resurface this discussion to see how your predictions compared to what actually happened. For reference, here are the numbers of the players who started the year as starters:
Walton: 10.7 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 3 APG
LeVert: 14.9 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 3.7 APG
Irvin: 14.3 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 1.5 APG
Chatman: 3.6 PPG, 2.5 RPG, 0.7 APG
Donnal: 3.4 PPG, 2.1 RPG, 0.1 APG
