Eh. I feel like Channing Stribling was not significantly better than a guy like Brandon Watson even. We’ve also never had a third corner better than Brandon Watson.
Was a great thanksgiving week. As always, our basketball program over achieves and warms our hearts, while Michigan football is what it is
There are no one-and-dones in football. That gives programs like ours a chance in basketball. Football’s just different. The coming era of paid players is an opportunity for Michigan to figure out a way to make it work. If that particular part of the playing field were to be levelled we’d have a lot less to criticize about Don Brown and Jim Harbaugh.
With OSU’s talent, Don Brown creams anyone.
His defense was truly good enough in '16. I don’t know that the program is recovered from that loss, not to mention the ones that have come since. That was an era-defining game that Michigan was not allowed to win.
We might as well just stop playing or change divisions at that point. Or just move the game up in the schedule so our Thanksgiving isn’t shit on every year followed up by an annual bowl game L. I’m done losing to them and if we can just stop playing them altogether I’m good. Seems like this University would rather just lose to OSU than put Harbaugh’s feet to the fire. When does apathy set in? Eventually people will stop giving a shit if every year ends like this.
We will NEVER beat OSU under Harbaugh. NEVER. We were dominated in every single facet of the game. Again. It is clear that Harbaugh’s ceiling is 10 wins.
I mean we literally went to OT with them once so never is clear exaggeration.
Penn State has lost 7 of 8 and the one they won was an act of god. Are PSU fans calling for Franklin to be fired?
Fact is that OSU is in their best sustained success in the history of their program. Does that mean we can’t beat them or expect the occasional upset? Of course not. But Our program hasn’t been at that level since the 70s probably.
We’re behind them and will be for the foreseeable future most likely regardless of who is coaching us. A poor hire and we become Tennessee. A good hire and we become Penn State with 1 win every 8 years?
That’s fine and dandy. Michigan won’t see a cent of my money until they do something worthwhile on the field. 3rd place finishes and losses in the Red Box bowl are a waste of time and investment. 0-5 is the worst start of any coach in the hx of this rivalry. It is not sustainable as Michigan head coach. The pitchforks will be out once Harbaugh loses to open the season in Washington next year bc we all know how this team plays on the road against quality opponents.
A little perspective. Harbaugh is fine. Ohio State is just a wrecking crew. If anything, they’ve underachieved only making it to the playoffs twice considering how much of a talent advantage they’ve had over the rest of the Big Ten.
I don’t think Michigan can be any better than they have been in harbaughs tenure until players start getting paid.
For comparison, looking at the last five years of college basketball on Torvik, Michigan is #12.
I appreciate how rational the last three comments have been.
1 win per decade is all anyone should think is possible against them. Just expect to lose every year and be happily surprised when/if we win on the rarest occasion. The rivalry is dormant bordering on dead, so there is no point in investing any emotion into this game anymore.
Truth be told Dave is right, its not really a rivalry unless the result is in question. Which as of late has not been the case both on the field and on recruiting trail.
I’ve just accepted the fact that we are the college football equivalent of the Cubs. Most of us will be long dead before it’s finally “our year” again.
This seems to be an obvious exaggeration
I expect more
