NCAA 2021: Michigan vs. LSU Open Thread

Agree. Dickinson was clearly #1 on scouting report. They were triple teaming him! He was not perfect — the foul was insane — but he was way better than good.

Good call. I was very impressed with Hunter’s passing today.

Username confirmed.

Yep aside from 3 of his fouls (2 on offense and that dumb half court one) I thought Hunter played a really good game tonight.

He’s also rock-solid on the defensive glass. Gets a lot of tough ones in a crowd.

LSU took 17 more shots than us today (69-52) but actually made one fewer shot (28-27). What an effort at that end.

YES! What I’ve been waiting to see. Resilience.

Really impressive win imo, particularly since LSU seemed to bring a good effort as far their games go. Very talented, but they always seem like they should be better than they are.

Either way I thought it was a great win. I thought Chaundee saved our butts in the first half. Came out FIRING, right when things looked like it could turn ugly and turn into a tough lead to overcome.

It would be great if this team found its offensive rythym again. Even with Livers out this team has some horses to roll with on offense, it just needs to be a complete effort. Can’t have two or three guys playing poorly or having a quiet day with Livers out.

Hopefully this current make up can gel and find its footing, would be great timing to pull out of this slump they’ve been in offensively…

Wisconsin road game? Maryland BTT game?

Not really the BTT game, JMO. That was friggin Maryland. But this felt to me like the first time since OSU that they really responded well to struggles. In ways they did not during the 2-3 skid.

Just want to mention that as bad as Mike Smith was at turnovers, he was unrelenting defensively. Like, Thomas did at times literally shoot over him but I also saw him switch onto Watford and give him an incredible fight.

I know LSU is bad defensively but 1.19 PPP, 67% from 2, 40% (10/25) from 3, and 80% (20/25) from the line seems pretty non-slumpy to me.

OTOH I am not expecting those types of numbers against FSU. Very different animal.

Need to see him stop whining about every call, too.

You are right Kevin Ollie did it.

Fellas are having a good time

Michigan coach. The reference was to Steve Fisher.

Kevin Ollie did do the same thing, but there are lots of coaches in their tournament debut every year. Ollie gets extra points for doing it at a major conference school, of course.

Brooks: 14-27 from 3 in the postseason. No less than 6 looks a game until he cooks off, pls.
