NCAA 2019: Michigan vs. Florida Open Thread

Awesome defensive performance. We gave up so many 3s, and held them under 50 points.

What might be most underrated is that we held them to 21 points in the second half, which is money time.

He could have had 15 assists if our guys finished more of those plays at the rim, OR more of those open 3’s.

Nice win, GO BLUE. I don’t take 3 straight Sweet 16’s lightly, we’re living in good times.

5 sweet 16s in 12 years. Wouldn’t have believed it during the Amaker years

I know you’re including JB’s whole tenure, but that’s 5 in the last 7 I believe. Keep it rolling!

Killed the boards on both ends.

Held Florida to their lowest score all season. It’s nice to enjoy the last couple of minutes stress-free. Go Blue!!

@Coachhay you have to be smiling right now! Eli was awesome today. He was in there during critical stretches and really helped turn the tide each time. Big time minutes.

Yeah, he (Eli) really did come through…his contributions were pretty big, especially when they came during offensive luls.

100% agree. His baskets, at those times in the game, were so important. He skyed for a big rebound on the defensive end during that mini run too.

Honestly don’t know why he didn’t get more run. Great effort.

Poole was playing so well guessing it was just tough to find him minutes. Zavier went (had to) go the whole way. Crazy by Zavier too.

Poole a big reason once again for M making Sweet 16; not nearly as memorable as last year though

When Michigan faces a zone I prefer Eli and Livers to be on the floor. I feel like they’re both really good at moving the ball and finding the open spots.

Florida State and Gonzaga look better this year. Texas Texas def an upgrade over Texas A&M. Tough weekend next week even if Buffalo wins tomorrow

Very true, but those teams need to adjust to us as well.

The big talk this week might be Iggy with only a 5 point outing against a Power Conference team in the tournament. Pundits might ask if he can score against major teams at the tourney level/in a tourney setting.

Agreed. I love iggy but it seems like when he starts the game bad he never really plays himself out of it and ends up being a net negative. I loved the move to livers and would like coach b to go that route anytime iggys struggling hard.
