i will take 35% from 3, and i think that his improvement in FT is here to stay. I don’t think that Johns necessarily need to expand his roles to solidify his minutes, he just needs to play as he did at the end of last season.
I have a feeling we’re going to see something different from a senior Brandon Johns Junior, as compared with the underclassmen version of BJJ. Add to that all the new talent coming in, I’m so excited for this season!
The fact that they included Dion Harris’ buzzer beater against Notre Dame is everything to me
Is it bad that I got nervous that Livers would hurt himself going up for the dunk in the replay? PTSD
Some tidbits from Matt d, not surprised about Williams, good sleeper pick for sixth man of the year in the b1g imo
Very interested in the Williams tidbit… Michigan will be very good if that’s the case. I’d also add to this that Dickinson is currently on a “make the first one and you’re allowed to take more” game plan, so I wouldn’t count on his shooting really making a big impact.
I’ve now heard Davante Jones and Terrence Williams winning this shooting drill. Is that good or bad?
I love Terrance but come on now best shooter on the team
I used to be pi$$ed every time M had a blowout double digit lead, and our scrubs would come in early, only to lose that lead against the other team. Something tells me that this year when our scrubs come in the game, they will pile on the points. It should be fun to watch…
“Recently the best shooter on the team in the 3-minute shooting drill.” That just implies that Williams shot better than everyone else in a drill one time. Which is a data point but is different than saying he’s the best shooter on the team.
OTOH, I tend to see a lot of best case scenario rotations featuring Terrance.
At the 3 or 4?
" Now more comfortable with a jumphook over his left shoulder/right hand in 3 on 3 scenarios."
favorite thing
Either/both. Obviously that depends a lot on him improving in key areas (being a passable shooter) but that would really fill some gaps.
Preseason talk I’m buying:
Terrence will have a legitimate role
On ball Kobe Bufkin
I think I agree re Williams but for you does that mean you’re buying his 3-point shot? Or that you think he’ll be on the court even without it? I could go either way. Pretty sure I’m not buying the shot but believe he’ll be on the floor.
I’ve always bought him in general. So yeah I buy him having a workable shot, not necessarily being a great shooter
I’d put the over/under around 34-35% or something like that on reasonable volume. That makes him pretty much the best shooting option at the 4 other than Houstan.
And yes, he’ll play no matter what his 3-point shooting numbers are. There’s not really another backup three on the roster.
Seems reasonable. Improved 3, hopefully, but hard to see upper 30%s. But also thinking that Juwan wants that kind of player on the court.
I’d be surprised if he wasn’t in the rotation even if he didn’t have a consistent jumpshot.
Are you writing off Johns’ ability to make as well as take? I know your general skepticism there, and seems well founded, but it seems to me maybe just as likely that Johns learns to let it fly than it is that Williams makes them in the mid-30%s.
