Michigan Women's Hoops

I just hope they can hold onto a top 16 overall seed so they can host a regional.

Same. I think hosting and getting out of the first weekend to the Sweet 16 is probably a realistic goal but likely also the ceiling without Phelia (although when they’re defending well and LB is in rhythm anything is possible).

The men’s team often pokes their heads in, or straight out attends the game. One game, a year or two ago, I had Juwan sitting directly behind me. That was kind of surreal. I’ve seen Juwan at softball and baseball games too. That’s one of the great things about him. He’s all about Michigan.

B1G Women’s hoops is somewhat the opposite of men’s this year. The conference is stacked with several teams who could make a deep run in the NCAA’s. Maybe the strongest it’s ever been?

Franz and Kiser are dating and with the NBA off this weekend for the All Star game it was probably one of a few chances for him to get back during the season.

I wasn’t sure if they were still a thing so didn’t mention it earlier. Knowing that it at least was a thing, I chuckled last night when Kiser was coming back from a timeout to shoot free throws and people were going nuts as they showed Franz up on the big screen and announced his presence. Figured that had to be somewhat of a distraction to her. :joy:

I thought that the biggest problem against the press was not coming to meet the pass instead of standing and waiting for it, which allowed OSU to come from behind to intercept. Wiggins could read the press with her speed, but didn’t know what to do when she got into the front court. Got trapped on the sideline and turned it over. Way too much burden on Brown.

Agreed. There were also a few times where Kiser would get a pass in the middle of the court with defenders flanking her on the sides but a wide open lane in front of her to cross the timeline. She was always looking to pass – which is understandable to a point given that she’s not a ballhandler – but probably could have at least gotten across halfcourt.

Most likely they’re going to see the Buckeyes again next week. Hopefully they can build on what they worked on in practice related to the press break and the recent game experience to play a different game in the BTT.

So, hoping to make it up for Senior Night tonight, but I hear it’s pretty bad up there. I’d be coming up 69N and then heading over on 94E. Anyone who’s local have any insight on how bad the roads are? Wondering if the warmer temps will melt the ice today but then freeze it again tonight.

No Leigha brown tonight versus Rutgers. Says to be an internal issue with program. Uh oh

Good news Illinois lost have tiebreaker in case we drop one tonight.

Surprised no Evans yet, but so glad Kiser’s having a night on Senior Night Part Deux.
