She really stepped up, big get!

No doubt. With her, Verajao and Williams, I think the front court will be very solid next year! Hoping we can get Amy Dilk to come back too.

A frontcourt of Williams, Kiser and Varejão and a backcourt of Phelia, Brown and Nolan is a solid six players. If one of Wiggins, Kampschoreder or Michelle Sidor (a longshot, but she came in the expected scorer over Nolan and I’ve seen her make shots in practice/in the past, and this is the year to make a step) can step up, that’s a good rotation. Plus, KBA has put a lot of trust in Elise Stuck, who can play a small-ball 4, it opens things up. Alyssa Crocket is also coming in with a lot of hype, which can be crucial for a fourth big in case Varejão doesn’t come in in shape.

You always worry after two seasons dominated by one player–Naz–that with her leaving, the program will take a step back. I thin KBA and the program are in a good place to move forward these next few years. There’ll be a step back, but they’ll be right back in the thick of it in no time.

They won’t end up like Mississippi State, who three years after making the National Championship game didn’t even get a bid for the WNIT last year (or this year, for that matter)

lets go! Also, woah are Emily and franz dating? That’s a power couple and a half right there….

Did Franz comment on the post? If so, I missed it. I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if they are. There are lots of athlete couples.

No but he’s in her previous insta post before it.

Ah, I missed that. I’ll look forward to a 7’1" unicorn in the class of 2044.

Appears they are and have been. Also good for the future of Wagner players at Michigan

Well raise your hand if you knew Michigan basketball had a eugenics program.

You seem to know better on these things than I, but how are the two freshmen other than Crocket viewed? Possible contributors? I saw at least one is deemed a serious shooter.

I think expecting Kampschroeder to be a playable piece at the very least seems pretty reasonable.

OK, so here I go again, THIS is what college sports, in my “humble” opinion, should be all about! “One degree down, one more to get.” “This is the greatest university in the world!” Look at that effusive smile on Emily’s face, pure excitement to be at Michigan, playing the sport she loves.

Now, for all those who call me old, set in my ways, living in the past, not able to get with the times, GET OFF MY LAWN!

LOVE this! Thanks JD1!

Is the roster set at this point, then? The imagine above from Michigan Women's Basketball Recruiting - WBB Blog doesn’t include Kampschroeder or (understandably since it was just announced) Kiser.

I guess the only remaining question is whether Amy Dilk chooses to use the COVID shirt, right? Or, could they realistically still add another piece if Emily Kiser’s slot this year is also marked as a COVID shirt?

Edit: I guess I don’t really understand if the extra year of eligibility for the COVID year counts against the scholarship limit for 22-23. I know they didn’t count last year, but I don’t know how that works for this year. Essentially, the question is whether Emily Kiser returning fills up the last available slot on the roster.
