I know it’s unreasonable, but I can’t stand players like Crooks in the women’s game. They can only exist because there’s no shot blocking at this level. I’m a bad person.

i’ve never heard you express reluctance to have a gravitational center who’s really good and yet cannot singlehandedly take your team to glory and also causes you to build your team in a very specific way to suit their talents but doing so doesn’t necessarily raise your ceiling high enough
so this is new to me

She would have to be more than just a paint-filler on defense but I’d take her. Or someone of that size. Obviously, I’d take UCLA’s mountain over Crooks.

Olson and Swords saw what happened last off-season and I’m sure there are precious few programs that wouldn’t have taken them, but they stayed.
Hobbs and Kampschroeder saw the entire team evaporate around them and stayed anyway.
I think literally every player in this rotation got pushed to be more than they ever had been in their career - amazing to see it get all the way here.

Man. I mean, a 3 is always going to be a tough draw, but a 3 that’s higher in Torvik than a 1-seed, all of the 2-seeds, and definitely all of the other 3-seeds is going to be tough.
I haven’t watched any ND this year, but they are #1 in the country in 3P% (and #8 in 3P% defense). Interestingly, their 3-point rate is 300th nationally.
Their effective FG% and efficiency have really tailed off lately, though, as they haven’t shot well from 3 down the stretch:

I’m honestly looking at this game similarly to the USC game. Just play tough, see how the cards fall. Playing with house money in this game IMHO.

Yeah the first I saw was that they were #5 on Torvik
I don’t know what to think of the 3pt shooting because their #1 in percentage and 300th in volume.
It seems like Hidalgo is an efficient three level, high volume scorer, and that’s the headline
This is the rare game against a top team where…I think we’re BIGGER?
It’ll be nice to go the next 27-hours watching basketball that doesn’t stress me out. I’ll even be (somewhat) okay if the Pistons lose to Dallas tonight.
