Michigan to face Toledo on Tuesday night in NIT opener

Well, let’s hope it’s more than one, but in truth, at least the truth as I see it, every day in practice is a day to grow and get better.

Well, for sure one team, at least, should have been in “the tournament.”. Michigan “could” have been in, Rutgers “should” have been in!

Dennis can play.

Historical Note: Not the first time Michigan has played Toledo in the NIT. We also played Toledo at Crisler Arena in the second round of the NIT in 1981. Found this clip about the game:

Can Dennis play for Michigan tomorrow?

I usually love these types of charts. Then I see where Rutgers and Ohio State are captured and immediately I dismiss this chart. Same thing with Dayton, who isn’t in the field either.

Also, someone go check on Missouri…how did they end up there!?!

let’s kidnap Dennis

Did something happen this morning that would have caused the line to go from -9 to -7 in an hour and 20 minutes?

Also, I think the NIT bracket was probably closer to correct originally, before they changed Vanderbilt to a 2 and Michigan to a 3. If you look at NET, Kenpom, and Sagarin there is a fairly wide gap on all three of those ranking services with us being at least 20 (NET) places higher. We’re 34 places higher than Vanderbilt on Kenpom and 28 places higher on Sagarin. In fact, Toledo is not ranked much lower than Vandy. Shoot, if Vandy is a 2, we should have been a 1 and Toledo a 3 or 4! Let’s hope we play like a 1! :blue_heart:

I think I would literally take Toledo’s top 5 minutes guys? no question mark? Dennis, Millner, Moss, Maddox, Shumate

Hopefully, you don’t feel that way after tomorrow night. But, yeah, they definitely have some guys who can play!

Dennis is significantly better than the others. Everyone on the team can shoot which makes them dangerous, but guys like Shumate and Millner are sort of prototypical MAC tweeners.

Millner is from Kobe’s high school, GRCHS. He’s pretty athletic, if I remember correctly. He and Maddox can shoot the eyes out of it, and Dennis, yes, he’s the real deal! McDonalds AA nominee in high school, played two years at Boise State before transferring to Toledo. Good student. Academic All MAC.

last couple years there has been one MAC guard per year who uptransfers pretty well. Marreon Jackson, Mark Sears, maybe a few others.

pre-portal the MAC was an intake league, not a feeder league. I remember a lot of P6 washouts landing there and balling out. Wes Clark from Missouri to Buffalo, Tre’Shaun Fletcher from Colorado to Toledo, etc

Merreon Jackson was kind of bad. I mean he scored a lot but their team was stinky. Maybe it wasn’t his fault. I liked his game at Toledo

Whitmore feels like one of those “injuries” where a lottery pick doesn’t risk “further” injury in the NIT prior to declaring.

Would certainly be notable if Kobe and/or Jett got “hurt” prior to our game.
