Was hoping GR3 would stay put with GSW for the rest of the season. He was getting some solid run there and with him being a FA this summer, it was a good opportunity to showcase his skills into a nice contract.
I guess the positive is heâll be in the playoffsâŚjust hope he can get some run.
The ironic thing is Philly had GRIII a few years ago and gave up on him then.
Thatâs right, I forgot about that. I think heâs a FA after this year and hope he finds a better home. Heâs really upped his game on the defensive end and can shoot the three.
A couple tidbits on GR3 Trade:
âGlenn Robinson wanted to stay with the Warriors. He recently told me heâd take a paycut if necessary. This wasnât a trade without risk for the Warriors. And it wasnât the most popular move in their locker room.â

âThe loss of Glenn Robinson is a blow to the coaching staff. They really liked him. I expect a strong push to get him back next yearâ
I picked up a $5 parking lot tshirt there a few years back that reads ``Trust The Process: Embiid-Simmons-Fultz", set around a Sixers logo. I knew at the time it would be a great shirt to troll Sixers fans in the future. Itâll be more and more effective every year.
Damn. Sucks for D-Walt. Traded just to make space.
Thatâs too bad, but heâll land somewhere, even if he has to take a few 10-day deals along the way. Clippers are making another move here shortly, Iâd assume.
His contract is guaranteed for this year as I recall.
Sixers traded James Ennis and Trey was still the odd man out (as expected).
At least he got that guaranteed contract.
What is the incentive for Atlanta in this trade? They give away money just to waive a player and then pay him? Seems like they are just paying a bunch of money for no reason.
Do they need help getting to the salary floor?
The Clippers paid the Hawks about $1.3 million, Woj worded it poorly
Ah okay, so looking at it seems to be:
Clippers get:
Fake 2nd round Pick
Hawks get:
D Walt
More than enough money to buy out his contract
So, this is basically just a way to keep away from the tax-payer line and Atlanta facilitated it
Iâm guessing either Burke or Walton will get a look in Minnesota. The Wolves are only carrying one PG right now.
I think calling the Sixers, a team with a 61% win percentage âa messâ is a little extremeâŚespecially now that Glenn gets to play with actual NBA players - something he wasnât doing in Oakland.
Glenn will definitely get run, the Sixersâ biggest need is people to shoot threes next to Embiid and Simmons, and Robinson was acquired specifically to do that.
Frankly, they also badly need a competent backup PG - Neto has been terrible offensively, and Burke terrible defensively. Both have gone through long stretches of being banished to the bench.
