Michigan Players in the NBA

He definitely looked good, 6/16 from the floor and 15/15 from the line is a hilarious stat line tho

Danny fills up the stat sheet in his second game (27 mins):

8 points (3/6 FG, 2/3 3PT)
10 rebounds
2 assists
3 steals
4 blocks
3 TO
5 PF

Much better showing, although still having a difficult time with the ball.

I know we disagree, but the assist/turnover ratio, to me, is going to be the thing to watch on Danny. I don’t know that he’s a plus NBA defender (I think he’ll be fine!), and I sort of doubt he’s a plus NBA scorer (his interior finishing isn’t great, and he CAN shoot but he’s not, today, a Turner/Holmgren level shooter (nor was he when they were his age) so the five-outness possibility here is a little squishy to me. He’s not the passing-hub type passer like a Jokic or Sengun or, to lower our gaze, draft-class mate Hansen Yang (ie, firing passes out of the post), he was mostly running ball-screens like a PG. I’m really curious to see if that aspect plays at the NBA level, as I think the degree to which it does or doesn’t is really going to be the determining factor of his success.

The good thing is that he’s on a roster that doesn’t really have much to do other than see what Demin, Wolf, Traore, and Saraf can do. Now, all four of those guys want to play with the ball, but you have to think they all get their shot.
