Franz isn’t the most explosive athlete but his pacing and slitherness are super effective. There are moments where I didn’t think he can get to the rim and he managed to do it.

Yeah I think he was on their G League team last year. Assume that’s where he ends up again

Both DJ and X really seem like “AAAA Players” like Ignas - good G-Leaguers that for different reasons (for X I think it’s really just height, for DJ it’s his jump-shot) are just never getting looks (or more in DJ’s case not capitalizing on them) at the next level. Obviously, it’s easier to get a “call-up” fromt he G-League than from Europe, but the compensation abroad is generally better if you can land in a more established league (France, Italy, Spain, Turkey) or a few other select clubs…it wouldn’t shock me to see them go at some point.
Like especially X - it’s hard to see him playing BETTER in the G-League than last year (aside from a still poor FT %) - he shot 54% on twos, 47% on threes (not high volume but not LOW), 9 assists, 4.5 boards…I didn’t see him play so I can’t speak to defense but I’m going to assume he played it pretty well.

The issue with X is he’s a ball dominant PG who needs the ball in his hands to be effective. This isn’t what NBA wants from a backup PG. Backup PG needs to be able to be comfortable and effective off the ball.

In general, I don’t think there is a ton of interest in 5’10" guards. Offensively, if he’s like 3 inches taller, he’s TJ McConnell (who mostly plays with shot-takers not creators), so the phenotype exists.

He played on their Summer League team back in July.
Which board member is the GM of the Grizzlies and did exactly what some posters here would do with that power.

Christopher seemed to show some flashes in Houston, though not from 3. I think he’ll get a look from somebody. I think Todd will have to go overseas.
For what it’s worth, Nate Duncan had James Edwards on this weekend and Edwards repeatedly referenced Livers an important part of the rotation.
