Heās shooting 36% in the tournament. Heās scoring inefficiently. I will grant he has at times made baskets. I mean, Iām not sure why āhe shouldnāt take 18 shots a gameā is controversial.
Iām just trying to point out that thereās a difference between not shooting it well and being atrocious. Heās one of the most talented players on Germanyās team, heās top 5 in ball screen points created per game in the tourney (and Germanyās PNRs are more efficient with DS running them than 4 of the other top 5 players).
Lo has been solid off the bench and has had some nice flashes but look at Germanyās starting lineup. It isnāt like there are obvious candidates to use up possessions which leaves DS to create a lot of offense.
Really the 3 point shooting is whatās the issue. And I can agree he should probably take fewer of those if theyāre early in the clock
Iāll acknowledge āatrociousā is too strong, and I did call him abominable after a game he played overall badly in.
He has facilitated well, largely, but shoots, I think, way too much (and thatās a meta comment about his career too). Saying they have nobody else to do what he does and saying heās playing well arenāt exactly the same thing.

No, but it is an explanation as to why he shoots so much which appears to be your primary complaint.

Most of this thread has been you killing him whenever Germany comes up.
Germany has played pretty well in the tournament with him running the team and is still alive. I just think absolutely shitting on him ignores a lot of the value he adds to their team.

Obviously this isnāt Schrƶeder hoops so I will let it go after this, but I think itās a little blinkered to say the guy leading the team in shot attempts while posting something like a 45% true shooting (if my Math is roughly correct) is doing great.
Like if heās going to shoot so much, being semi-competently accurate seems important!
