I know for a fact that Giannis and Markkanen, to name a few (it’s like a month old, but Doncic was indicating he’d play to defend Slovenia’s title too), are playing in Eurobasket, so my assumption is that if the Wagners are playing tune-up games with Germany, they will be playing as well.
There’s a month between the end of Eurobasket (9/18) and NBA opening night (10/19), so I think we’ll see a fair number of NBA guys there.
He was, but if memory serves, it was a similar scenario to Zeb Jackson and Montverde. Transferred out of Wisconsin, for coaching and to play with the best. I believe that team was stacked that year.
Josh is the current assistant GM of the Pistons. He could be headed down the path to being a future GM too (especially if these young pieces turn into something). Definitely has a bright future.
I wore a Michigan sweatshirt on a flight home from Vegas last September, and Bartlestein talked to me for a good 20 minutes pre-takeoff (we were aisle buddies that talked mostly about football - we beat UW, Oregon beat OSU).
I had no idea it was him until the baggage claim area when there was a driver with a sign for him. I regret not talking to him more about basketball. He’s clearly trending upwards and his reputation as a good dude was reaffirmed by a 20 minute conversation.
