Definitely life-changing as long you don’t squander it. Maybe he did, but you can pretty easily live an upper class existence the rest of your life with 5 mil in the market if you just live on the interest.
Yeah in what way is $23 mill not absolutely life transforming?
I know Burke has some off-court issues in the past so who knows what that means for his finances, but come on…$22M is in the 1% of all Americans so I think that’s life transforming. It probably means that he needs some sort of job after he retires but right now I’d take 1% of that so I can try to figure out how to pay for my son’s college education.
Well it’s probably less than he thought he’d make in a season when he got drafted (and it’s probably more like $16 after agent cuts).
I don’t think he’ll be able to rest the rest of his life.
I’m definitely not arguing that he’s not likely in a much better spot than essentially every other American.
C’mon–an unnecessarily negative take.
I will admit that I’m not a particularly big fan of his post-Michigan choices.
Not the guy I thought he’d be either, but who knows?
wait, which choices? just skimmed his entire Wikipedia article to try to figure out what you were talking about. (fascinatingly detailed, especially about his time at michigan!)
Not much of a point if it will live on in quote tweet.
I guess what I’m saying is he’s a former basketball player, a high school graduate, with niche popularity. Making a few hundred grand overseas is probably his best option.
Well, he’s generally regarded to have drank his way out of the league until he briefly resurrected his career in NY. Then, he decided he’d rather miss virtually this entire season (3 Covid absences!) rather than get the shot.
That’s about it.
I’m not even saying he’s a bad guy, because lots of good people have substance abuse issues, lots of good people were dumb about the vaccines. But they’re bad choices!
Trey also had some controversial comments about Michigan too
Regardless: I think Trey is probably headed overseas.
The jail food comments athletes sometimes make are so funny. Occasionally they have to eat the same food normal students eat at the dorms instead of personally catered steak and lobster at training table and it’s apparently tramautizing.
Considering all the free stuff they get, including ZERO student loans, you’d think they’d let that pass.
I mean this wasn’t at U of M but a friend of mine was served raw chicken tenders on at least two separate occasions in a college cafeteria, and I bet he’s traumatized to this day
I mean, dorm cafeterias were really bad, food was awful to gouge down.
At Michigan I found it depended on the place. Mojo and new East Quad were great. North Quad up and down. Markley
I thought the burrito deli at West Quad was the best.
Couldn’t beat the Quiznos and Panda Express on North Campus where we sometimes ran into J-Mo
By the way, solid performance by Moe Wagner in HUSTLE. Kudos to him for taking on the role of a player Adam Sandler’s character thinks will be a bust.
Also, Anthony Edwards was great as the “villain.”
