Michigan Players in the NBA

So so so happy for X as all his hard work since his fr season. He wasn’t my favorite player at M the time he was in AA for nothing. I hope this starts a long career in the LEAGUE.

Stauskas is currently on the Celtics roster and doesn’t play. I’m not sure his status is that different.

The thing I am most interested in is Walton’s ability to shoot and score in the G League and not the NBA. If like ANY of that could travel I’d think he can play - his COVID time with the pistons suggested he could run an offense.

I think someone will take a flyer on Wilson - the Rockets were saying they’d like him back, then never did it.

The issue with all these guys is that they (not Stauskas who by CBA is getting the 82-game amortized league minimum contract) should be able to make make more money abroad. Like Rahk and JMo almost definitely make more, and Walton/Stauskas have shown they can play in large Western European leagues.

Arguably the guy who showed best in his COVID contract was Chaundee?

I suspect that playing overseas, while more financially beneficial, has a lot of drawbacks. Many of the mid level teams have questionable stability, living in foreign countries has challenges, there are rarely long term contracts, many leagues only allow a limited number of Americans.

Yeah definitely. But Stauskas was on Barcelona iirc, and Walton on Alba Berlin who are both pretty reputable orgs - not the gauntlet JMo has had to run to get to a stable league (finally)

That clip made me smile. He may not stay in the NBA long, but it was awesome to see him hit that shot.

10 points, 3 reb, 5 assists, 5-12 FG. 0-1 3PT, 1 steal, 2 blocks, 2 TOs in 43 minutes of a 98-94 win

He had the go-ahead FG late in the 4th as well along with THREE hook shots!

Clean yourself up now and head to bed.

It was great to see him play again. Even just to notice the way he runs or dribbles - mundane stuff - brings back fantastic memories. Still so wrong his last postseason was taken from him.

Damn what if he had redshirted in 2016-2017.

Doing it for the Pistons lottery odds

Simpson is averaging 2 blocked shots a game in the NBA. Who woulda thunk it?

Of course, Derrick Walton averaged 1.3, so maybe the younger legs led X to outdo his mentor.

Iggy with a big night tonight in the Magic’s upset of the Cavs.

20 points (8-16 FG, 2-6 3-PT, 2-4 FT), 6 boards, and 2 assists.

Moe had 15/3/3 (6-8 FG, 3-4 3-PT).

Franz did play, but only for 7 minutes. He had 2 points.

LeVert had 11 (4-8, 0-1, 3-4), 4, and 4 for the Cavs.

Iggy’s had a pretty decent stretch over the last 5 games: 13.8/3.6/1.4 averages, shooting 53% from the floor, and 42% from 3. Only one of those games did he shoot below 50%.

I hope he gets to linger around at least another year.
