That brought a nice smile on an day where such is needed.
Last 10 games, Poole averaging 25.9-3.3-5.4ā4.8 threes and 54.4% FG, 87.1% FT. I think those are all-star numbers. And he has 15 points in the first quarter today.
I would have never predicted Poole would end up having such an insane handle in the NBA when he was at Michigan. Thereās been more than a few times Iāve been absolutely stunned by some of his hesitation moves and cross overs. Like, in the sense that itās as impressive as anything Kyrie does.
Yeah I never saw him as being able to carry ANY minutes as an NBA primary ball handler, and heās doing it for an effective offense.
Duncan benched for Max Strus in Miami. Weāll see how many mins he plays tonight in the new role but thank goodness he got that life-changing money already
For sure. Glad he got paid.
He will probably figure things out, but if he doesnāt he hot guaranteed huge money.
Strus/Duncan is the two Spider-Man pointing at each other meme in terms of play style and biography.
Either way, the delta between Duncanās minutes and Strusā was about 5 per game, so if theyāre just swapping roles, it isnāt a huge blow to his PT. My hunch is that itās an opinion who fits easier with the starting group (neither will finish games) in lieu of their tempestuous losing streak.
Warriors #3 in West vs. Suns #1 at Suns. Poole with 28 pts, 7 rebounds, 6 assists on 6/10 from 3 late in 3rd qtr. Poole on a tear with 15 straight 20+ pt games, basically leading the team with Curry injured. He has made some sick moves to the basket plus draining threes like layups. Just wow!
Edit: 66/116 from 3 over 16 games in March, a whopping 57% - and that includes 1 bad night of 1/10!
He has so many different moves nowadays too and heās so fluid.
Heās getting a max deal.
Ended with a half court attempt with 5 seconds leftā¦
He got a little too eager trying to trick them into fouling him while shooting a 3. Gotta get fouled before you throw up the shot haha
Exactly, lots of ppl were like what was that? But it was close to almost working. Not much you can do there either way unless you get pretty lucky. Both he and Kerr said as much in the post game.
That never ever works though. Even if heād timed it right they wouldnāt have called it and youād end up looking like Bohannon at the end of the Iowa-Michigan game
GS was screwed either way. Phoenix was never going to let them shoot a 3. They were going to foul and then since GS had no timeouts left to advance the ball, GS was going to need to go the length of the court in 3-4 seconds when they got the ball back and the Suns probably would have just fouled again.
I agree it never works. And yeah no way to really win. Not sure what else he couldāve done. Pretty sure he doesnāt care what it may have looked like to some though.
Btw, anyone know whatās up with him and his disdain for the media? I mean I know it would get old having to answer those post-game questions continually, just wondering if anyone knows of a particular background there.
