Caris is fighting for his playoff life and has come out great. 11 points, 4 boards, and 2 assists in the first 7 minutes.
Luka did all that today with a sprained ankle. Heâs canât miss TV for me right now. Still only 21 years old.
Trey and Tim both a big part of this team and itâs cool to see them having so much fun in the playoffs. Also gotta love Boban
The Nets suck, but Levert is having an awesome game. Would love to see the Pistons get him when he becomes redundant after Durant and Kyrie are back.
I wish the Pistons had anything to offer! But yeah, Levert would be great for them and on a good contract.
Itâs a shame they drafted Henry Ellenson instead of Caris.
Ah, hindsightâŚ
I didnât watch the game - did the raptors just decide to play bench guys in the second half and win anyway? The minutes allocation looks like youâd see the last day of the season.
Itâs a shame the Pistons did and didnât do alot of things. After six straight ECF, these last 12 seasons have been pretty rough to watch.
But I actually feel good about their direction right now. They know theyâre not in a place to compete. Hopefully Blake gets healthy and has a good season so they can trade him for ANYTHING. Iâm not too upset we dropped in the lottery, other than the fact that we have never, in our franchise history, moved up in the lottery. Only stayed or moved back. Meanwhile, Cleveland gets the #1 pick every other year, or so it seems.
Get Halliburton or Hayes at 7 this year and hopefully win the Emoni Bates lottery in two years.
Yeah, Brooklyn started playing reserves early too though.
Lowry also left the game super early with an ankle injury
Brooklyn was pretty well stuck with playing reserves. They were without KD, Kyrie, Dinwiddie, DeAndre Jordan, Taurean Prince, and even their late-addition Jamal Crawford for the series. Then they lost Joe Harris after Game 2. It was basically Caris, Jarrett Allen, and the deep bench.
Was going to watch Bucks vs. Magic this afternoon but the game is not happening. The Bucks didnât come out of the locker room and are boycotting due to the police shooting that happened in Wisconsin. Itâs going to be very interesting to see how the NBA handles this situation.
Historic moment. There are two more games scheduled later tonight. I would think those teams are now seriously considering following suit? LeBron has been very outspoken about the social justice topics, and the Lakers play the late game tonight.
The nba will let them do what they want.
Thatâs a stretch
The NBA has very little ability to do anything against striking players (itâs not like a manufacturing plant where you can just hire new people) and they have already taken many active public stances that align with the boycott. I wouldnât say they will let the payers âdo what they wantâ, they will control the situation to their ability toward the direction they think is best.
It will likely happen in the NCAA at some point as well, boycotting a game is pretty unlikely (Duncan Robinson talks about that on The Beat podcast related to player welfare and NIL rights) but if players do boycott, the NCAA doesnât have a lot of power over a strike.
The league has gotten lots of positives press (and some negative attention) for encouraging its players to be vocal politically and socially engaged. I happen to agree with the ayers, but from a league perspective it would be a massive 180 to crush this.
