Michigan Players in the NBA

That’s why I prefer to refer to assistant coaches by Social Security number.

Yeah, it almost seems like a game of telephone. Like someone said that Miller would replace Eisley if he joined Howard’s staff, and it was interpreted as Miller joining Howard’s staff.

Man I remember going to a game THJ’s freshman year and thinking he was a definite NBA prospect. My buddies cited his rankings at or near 100, and how it was probably “just generous ranking for a NBA son”. Proud of him and the career he has made with his own game!

Had not seen that Mavs jersey before (I don’t watch much NBA). I think it would be cooler if is was MORE graffiti-style…seems halfway between a regular font and graffiti.

The nets have to be thinking Caris can run the point. I know they won’t pass up Kyrie but Caris is either the future or traded in the next two years. He’s cat quick, can guard the best 1 or 2 on the floor and distributes the rock. When healthy he’s a SUPER STAR!

Why wouldn’t they want him as a nice third scorer with Kyrie and KD?

Wow 5 APG?

8 game stretch. Still can’t get any run with parent club. Maybe soon though.

I think they would if they can share the ball…that’s yet to be established.

The question with Caris is less “does he have value to the Nets?” and more “are we better off spending the $34 million on something other than a guard when we already have Dinwiddie signed for less?”

Frankly, I think the answer there may be yes. That’s not an insult to Caris - more just remarking that paying $17 million to an on-ball player when you have Irving and Durant signed may be redundant.

I tend to think the Nets never really intended to keep him - I think the hope was that they’d sign him to pretty standard-level starter money and he’d outplay the value of the deal, making him a good trade chip to get a better fit for when Durant returned. Unfortunately for them, that hasn’t really happened (the injury and ensuing struggle being the culprits).

Moving it past just Caris, if I were the Nets, I’d be alarmed that neither of my (pretty good) non-Kyrie guards seems to be able to share the floor with him.

Well said, I think this plays out over the summer when Durant returns and the FA market can be evaluated.

Caris struggled for a few weeks last season right after coming back from injury. I know it wasn’t great before he had surgery this year, but I feel like the sample size is too small to say neither of them play well with Kyrie. Probably going to depend on how well Caris shoots the ball the rest of the year.

Mitch McGary going pro in something other than sports.

Damn. Didn’t know that was a thing.

Man if he had dedicated as much time to basketball as he does with this stuff, he could have been making millions.

The fact that he got suspended from the league for using it so much is crazy.

Might be offensive, but man what a waste of talent.
