Michigan Non-Revenue Sports 2021-22

Michigan Softball won their opening game in the NCAA’s, 2-1. It was a nail-biter, complete with a dropped 3rd strike, and throw to 1B that hit the runner in the back to give South Dakota State two runners on with two outs in the top of the 7th. I’m not sure if the previous pitch had anything to do with it, but Hannah Carson was hit with a bat on her glove-hand forearm. That may have kept her from making the squeeze on Storako’s would-be game-ending pitch.

Meghan Beaubien came in to get the final out on another K.

Michigan will likely face 16-seed (and host) UCF tomorrow morning. UCF is currently up 5-0 in the 4th inning vs. Villanova.

Gut punch for Michigan Softball in Game 1 today. Up 2-0 and lost 3-2 in 11 innings. They’ll play again in a couple of hours.

Looks like waving the white flag down 8-0 to UCF in the 6th inning.:disappointed_relieved:

Justin Thomas from 7 shots back for the WIN!!! So pleased! Oops, I’m sorry, wrong message board!:grinning:

It was 8-3. 9-4 final. Sadly, the season is done.

Let me guess they want to go where they can play 12 mos a year. WARM WEATHER SCHOOL.:disappointed_relieved:

Very cool. Hopefully, they play a game before 10pm today.

Baseball plays at 6 EST vs the winner of Penn St./Iowa who are playing now. A win today puts us in tomorrow’s final and a loss would result in a rematch tomorrow before the final.

You love to see it!

I felt bad that I didn’t cover a game this season, but I had a busy spring.

3-2 Iowa top of the seventh. Michigan scored two in the bottom of the 6th to get within striking distance. Michigan goes to the championship game against the winner of Rutgers vs Indiana, if they can pull this out.

Not lookin’ good. Now 5-2 still in the 7th, nobody out two runners aboard. Sorry, I’m going to bed. I hope the bats get hot for our boys.

Last chance for the night, chasing 4.

Baseball gets another crack at Iowa today, at 2pm.

Yeah, I think it actually got to 6-2 when I hopped in bed. Normally I would lay there looking for updates, but I was tired. Final 7-3, I guess.

Yep, get Iowa again today. 2:00? So, Rutgers must have beaten IU in the late game?

It ended at 4:17am so I prefer to say early morning game:flushed::flushed::flushed:

Michigan has a 4-1lead in the fifth but their pitcher just got ejected for using a foreign substance in his glove. Pretty obvious too.

Good way to end the inning. Way to go, Weston!
