strongly agree
I remember talking to someone the day before the game and found out that Michigan’s hotel setup in Anaheim was so bad that they had to switch. Which is a weird thing to happen for an NCAAT regional IMO.
I wonder what it was
The alumni presence at the LA games is pretty overwhelming
I think there was more intensity in the seats than on the court for that game, and it was a great game. The only thing I remember aside from the environment was a Louisville fan a few rows behind me yelling “We call him Monster-trezel!!!” every time Montrezl Harrell did anything at all. It was horrible.
Rose Bowl was the greatest sports event of my life. Going back in time I would still choose rose bowl over Houston national championship game.
I go to any outings in NYC (BK or the Garden). We always kick ass when it comes to attendance in NYC. I went to the orange bowl in Miami too but that was a terrible L to FSU, and I’ve been to Peach Bowl in ATL.
I used to live in Seattle and we are planning to go to that game… BigBoutros, come come come. I think we can get up to 30% of that stadium… tons of Michigan alumni in Seattle.
Delta Hotels or something weird I think, next to the Marriott Suites.
Michigan hoops fans definitely like Michigan to travel to them, not vice versa.
This is why so many Chicagoans love Northwestern (not just Michigan fans). It’s the one program that basically never plays a home game
First game at Crisler was a 1 pt loss to BU during the Ellerbe/Amaker era (don’t remember the year, maybe like 01?) but it was one of those holiday break games where the arena was empty and we sat in the student section.
First game in college was that MTE we hosted with EMU, Davidson and someone else where Steph Curry made his debut.
hi willywill9 welcome to the community
ooh the October game @ Washington? u know I’m there bruh
My first game was Savannah State, I don’t remember how old I was but it would have been pretty early elementary school. I was too young to know that it was exciting but in a bad way.
Best memory is going to the Big Ten Tournament in Chicago in 2019 with my mom. We sat through every single game, even the Wednesday games. They lost to MSU in the championship game that year but it was a great game and a great atmosphere.
We got standing room only tickets to Bulls-Lakers on Tuesday to see Mo (and LeBron), my dad couldn’t believe it when we told him we decided to go to a 14th basketball game.
same, saw the end of the Davidson game and picked them to the sweet 16 as a result of seeing that kid shoot. won me my bracket that year!
Not my first game but my freshman year at UM coincided with the national championship season (super lucky birth year). Very first class at school was a 12 person summer English 101 class with fellow frosh Sean Higgins. Anyway, the game v MSU at Crisler was memorable in that my buddy and I didn’t have student tix – or any tix. A stadium employee saw us loitering around and gave us a wink and a nod and let us in SRO w/o a ticket (does this happen anymore?). Regardless Michigan beat the pants off of MSU and the highlight as I recall to this day was a fast break towards the North bucket where Glen Rice got out on an outlet wing run and threw a thumbs up to Rumeal Robinson (who was still on MSU half court) for a half-court alley-oop which was amongst the best plays I’ve ever seen live. Crisler - a dank dungeon of a facility in '88 - lost its collective mind.
The UM Hoops pickup game meetup has to happen at some point. Make it a fundraiser pro am for Dylan dealing with the Michigan Hoops slog for us. He can do a recap of the game and we might even see ourselves on a 5 Key Plays
I’m down but be forewarned, I am all enforcer zero skill. my game is bone shattering picks and hook n holds. I am unable to shoot pass or dribble
It would be an honor to be on the receiving end of a bone breaking Big Boutros pick
I can read it now in player bullets:
bluejayway: sucks. I mean, just sucks.
but can u contain the ball
