Apparel companies are something else. I went into my local Meijer yesterday and they already had Michigan 2026 Big Ten title shirts
Would be a pretty big flex to buy one of those and wear it while the Big Ten season is still ongoing lol
With a 5000% mark up after a $0.15 shirt and ink I am sure.
I got about 80% of the way down the road a few years ago with launching my own and just doing a few Michigan colleges and itâs really tough to find a strategy to cover all the fees you need to pay. I was basically going to have to go food truck style and make it a traveling thing until I had a big enough base to go straight online. Wasnât committed enough to see it through.
It does suck the amount of Miejer style apparel producers there are out there. Straight up trash imports with ink that will fade after a few washes and they peddle them for $25.
And that is why I tend to stick with thrift stores for my clothing, or department stores if they have the high end stuff on a good sale
everyone in Maize Rage for the MSU home game
These arrived and I can vouch for them. They are as nice as any old pair of 19nine that I have around, double mesh is way more comfy though. Only negs would be metal tips on the strings which I am not a huge fan of because you have to double knot the end or will lose them first time through in the wash and the interior tag is annoyingly large and not sewn in fully. The screen printing is really nice on them, super comfy and just above the inseam feels in the sweet spot. Lots of the old 19nines tend to be long.
But good job by Homefield on these. Iâm happy with them and I am picky af.
I love the warm-up shooting shirt though thatâs a hefty price. It also looks like the shorts are better than the ones I bought a few years ago as the block Mâs look like their own layer.
These launched recently, going relatively quickly, but still a bunch of sizes left. I am sucker for the minimalist approach.
appreciate these updates and your expertise on this stuff
re: starting your own biz, an adjacent thought I had is wouldnât MDen or UGP would want a, like, high end house brand? or maybe the demand for this stuff among boomers and Gen Xers is already met by super boutique-y fashion-y brands?
feel like my dad has no idea who Mitchell and Ness are but heâs got plenty of interest in nostalgia apparel. not really my bailiwick tho.
It definitely exists. Fern Boutique does a womenâs basketball line that seems to sell pretty well. As you can tell by the price, the licensing probably isnât cheap.
I think KBA has rocked the entire catalog this season.
They couldnât just Photoshop out that stick coming out of his head?![]()
Every year does the NCAA or whoever just put their heads together with one common goal of coming up with the worst designs possible to put on these shirts? I donât get it.
âOK weâre getting there, butcan you make it more jarring, please?â
$55 for that hideous abomination?!
I didnât even look at the price wow
That shirt represents the Jordan Picking Adam Morrison-era quite well.
I am hoping Homefield makes a Final 4 shirt because everything else I have seen so far has been rough.
