If I am going to drop some money on some Mich stuff, it’s certainly going to be in this direction. Don’t have a ton, but snagged a few and it’s really well made. Way heavier than Homefield or Lulu if you’re going for the more premium stuff. Just wish it wasn’t so busy on some designs. The hoods with the lettering just don’t do it for me.
oh these are really nice, but yeah, having the name on the hood is so weird. i guess it’s odd to feel “this hoodie is literally designed for you to not be wearing the hood,” even if that’s how most people are wearing them most of the time
So basically they weren’t actually making any money despite being fairly popular? Largely bc they were making good products for cheaper than they could afford long term?
I don’t know how much licensing fees are per school, but they were limited on those as well when they started. Had most of the big ones, but around the times they went in-house, they added pretty much all of D1 so that might have had something to do with it as well. They were routinely sold out for months on products which probably drove a lot of the initial boom.
I can get over the pricing, but the real issue is huge step back in quality, the version1’s they produced were some of the best apparel ever. All my V1 stuff is still holding together, the sweat pants/hoodies/shirts from the early days have lasted 5+ years now, I’ve had to donate everything else purchased after that because it just straight up shrinks and is inconsistent on sizing.
Still hanging on to a lot of official Jumpman stuff. I’ve yet to dip a toe into either of those, but I will this year and report back. The Millar stuff actually looks pretty nice. Basic, but nice.
I have a few Peter Millar polos to wear to work or golfing, but the golf brands have grown on me over the years. Still have way too much Jumpman stuff, but aside from the Tech Fleece stuff this year, not much has caught my eye of late.
I used to have a hook up with a GA in a separate sport, but could snag me some bball team gear from time to time so I had a good bit of Jumpman gear around. Always felt like it fit way different than the stuff you could get direct from Nike and as a tall lanky guy, I’ve held on to most of that.
I wish it was like soccer apparel where they had more options for stuff that was official team gear and that was standard replica and you could pick between the fits.
Mden for awhile had tall sizes in Jumpman (right before Covid if memory serves) and that’s still some of my favorite stuff that I wear. Still see occasional PE stuff in eBay or various FB groups.
I still love the Jumpman stuff but find myself wandering around to other brands of late. I know a lot of people like the Rhoback college launch, but that also gets expensive quickly.
I’ve been getting Greyson Clothiers lately. Not a huge selection but super nice. They have more of their stuff on Rally House than their own site right now.
