If he develops a midrange game, he’ll be lethal for 2 years.
I like Wagner a lot, just don’t know if he will reach his full potential as a five. Would Dekker or Uthoff have looked that amazing as Beilein fives? They would have looked good, to be sure, but only alongside seven-foot space-eating post players could they truly reach their potential.

I don’t think he is as skilled as those other guys WB.
But being fatigued is what scares me. They play really gritty and beat a good Purdue team and then play like absolute crap and lose to an Ohio St team they should beat. It is a different team everyday. I would assume JB gives them more rest and keeps them fresh for their remaining games.
Trying to look on the bright side. I’m an optimist.
Imo it’s not fatigue. It’s exactly what average teams do. The inconsistency is what leads to losses and having no idea what team will show up.
This is why people are concerned for this Northwestern game now.

Wagner is brain dead on D, but for the 8-10 minutes that Doyle gets, Wagner can’t possibly make it any worse. I can’t even recall the last time Doyle came in the other team didn’t go on a run. They get run out of the gym when Donnal is out anyway, so let the kid learn on the fly.

Matt when Doyle checks in I would put him in PnR situations non stop. He can’t keep up at all.
This is what worries me about Davis.
Davis will be far better then Doyle. I know s lot of people are down on him but I promise you he will succeed. He’s more of a gamer than Doyle to. Great foot work and is very physical. He iniates the contact and more importantly has body control/ knows how to use it. He also can face up. He is getting faster every video they show. I also could see him playing up to his competition as opposed to fumbling away opportunities when lights are on like Doyle. I say you redshirt him and teske anyways. We have donall and wAgner at the very least next year. Probably Wilson or could too. Hopefully Doyle leaves though. If I’m belein I bench Doyle then let him know that he’s fifth on the depth chart and that he might want to leave. His future would Be better at say Oakland. .
It’s pretty hard to be worse then Doyle so I do think he will be better. I just hope he has the coordination and is able to catch better then Doyle.
I am hoping that we get two players to transfer that way we have a scholarship open for Spike. I would love to see him come back it is a shame if it ends this way. I definitely hope Ricky Doyle transfers after that I am not sure. Kam was a very highly touted recruit so who knows maybe he can step it up and play like he was expected to, today was a step in the right direction but it was only one game so we can not over exaggerate. He would probably be most likely other then Ricky. D.J. would lose the year of eligibility if he transferred since he already use his redshirt so it would make no sense for him.

Still can’t get over the loss. Refs food us dirty I tell you. We went 13-27 from three and lost? If you told me we’d go 13-27 I would have said we win for sure. Those calls and the two blown fast breaks we blew did us .tough loss to swallow.

No. I would spot sub Wagner 3-4 minutes a half.
I would use Chatman as my sub for my 1-4. Would have to get creative by sliding players around but it can be done.
If there’s foul trouble, I mix in Dawkins.
There are solid teams every year that roll with a 7 man rotation. I think we are at that point given our depth limitations.
I love Wagner, but I am going to think of you, Bear, the first time Wagner blows his defensive assignment. Guy is going to be good, but not this year.

You live with that happening this year. The alternative is Doyle who isn’t an option anymore.
