I lived in a loft on South Los Angeles street for a stretch in 2005. It wasn’t great then but I know it’s improved quite a bit.
For the locals, if you don’t have the Watch Duty app, I hear that it’s helpful to track the fires.

I know this is a hoops forum and the LA games are over, but the level of destruction is unfathomable. we are at 6,000 structures destroyed and 0% containment. another 14,000 structures are in the path. Pacific Palisades is completely destroyed. Malibu is burning away. not much to say. you don’t think something like this can happen until it does

It was just surreal driving back from the UCLA game super hype and just seeing all the fire and all the damage that’s gonna come with it and feeling so disheartened.

Unimaginable devastation. My son lives in Van Nuys, is currently in Washington DC on business, and has already postponed his flight back twice.
Be safe out there. Are you able to tell us where you’ve been evacuated to!

It’s insane. I hope that somehow there’s some rain. At the very least, that the winds die down and containment is possible.
