Very excited to see the boys out here in person. Me and a buddy have tickets for the USC game on Saturday in row 1 of Section 110 right under the basket. I’m planning on the UCLA game as well but haven’t bought a ticket yet. I’ll be solo for that game so if anybody has one they’re looking to sell to a Michigan fan I’m looking.
Related… Our new Pac12 friends are focused on the adjustment to playing in front of crowds.
Arizona was the only Pac-12 team to average at least 10,000 fans for home games during the conference’s final season. Oregon State, Stanford and Washington State averaged fewer than 4,000 fans, with California barely topping that threshold at 4,022.
There will be a carryover effect in the Big Ten given that all four newcomers from the Pac-12 rank in the bottom five in home attendance, with USC’s average of 3,872 the lowest and UCLA ranking next to last with an average of 4,830.
Those numbers feel too low to be real.
Unless I’m reading something wrong, they do appear incorrect.
we are going to take over Pauley…they will be freaked out…when they hosted us in the 2019 baseball super regional we dominated that stadium 90/10 and all their old ladies got upset
Getting tickets was really easy, which the attendance numbers would indicate. I was able to get a pretty large choice of seats on each schools website. Didn’t have to bother with 3rd party sites. Wasn’t surprised about usc but was surprised with ucla
Tbh I think there’s basically nothing left to back up UCLA’s “blue blood status” except maybe one really old booster who still remembers watching Kareem play.
Just got into LA yesterday morning. Will be headed to both games with some college friends! Got cheap upper bowl seats for the USC game but splurged a little bit for UCLA tickets.
Also, if any locals have food recs, I’m on my own for dinner tonight! Staying in Burbank but not afraid to Uber.
Burbank wise: Hit up Porto’s. Get the potato balls. They get kind of busy but roll through pretty quickly. I’m sure there’s a Zankou’s Chicken which is always good. I tend to hit at least one of those every time I’m back in LA.
