I hearted this but that’s not nearly enough, so liking it again here in this post. I love that Mark Jackson of all people is LBJ’s Plan B.
Only time I am even going to entertain the idea of Juwan possibly leaving is if we win a natty and then I am good for two decades anyway so whatever at that point.
Wasn’t Mark Jackson instrumental in setting up the foundations for the success that the Golden State Warriors have had? Don’t understand the mockery, he’s not an unmitigated disaster as some seem to paint him out to be.
Jackson didn’t have much role in personnel and wasn’t regarded as a particularly good coach, as far as I know. The things that turned Golden State from merely good to killer that wasn’t specific to the talents of their personnel were the Death Lineup and the bajillionty off-ball screen sets that Kerr implemented. IIRC the Death Lineup itself was kind of an accident forced on Kerr by injuries.
Both Leroux and Strauss wrote books that presumably speak to this so I leave it to them or anybody that’s read them to make confident declarations about what Jackson’s legacy at GS should be. His time as an announcer has been a curmudgeonly one and I don’t think much that he’s said would make you think he’s going to be a very good coach? But I don’t take that to mean he’ll be terrible either.
I’m sure he’s not a TERRIBLE coach. But he’s so mute-worthy on broadcasts it affects one’s perceptions about his coaching acumen.

His X’s and O’s aren’t good but he played a role in the locker room dysfunction at GSW by pitting players against his teammates. He was not good to the players at all.
GSW foundations happened when they drafted well with Steph, Klay and Draymond. I think it almost doesn’t matter who’s the coach regardless but Kerr is the perfect coach for this team.
