Jaylen Brown - Will Likely Use OV for UM

jivan… agree his jumper needs work.

does JB develop shooting better or making a player “more than just a shooter”?

i.e. brown or kenny williams develop better under JB given the history of development?

Apparently this whole “I’m definitely going to an Adidas school” is a misquote, according to Jaylen. Not sure if he changed his mind, or if he feels bad for giving too much information about his plans, but I think we should assume that all 8 schools are still in the mix.

By the way, I watched his two games (in Chicago and Portland) and I was really NOT impressed. First of all, he can’t shoot the ball, even for free throws. Then, we did see some great athleticism going to the rim and dunking it a few times, but most the time he was just forcing it, and it didn’t look good at all.
I know it’s a very small sample size the judge him on, but that’s the only two full games I watch him play on (and we all know that highlight videos are usually overrated). At this point, I might even prefer having a senior Levert, if I had to chose one or the other…

This is the first I have heard of this:

Nothing worth listening to. Wouldn't shock me at all if Jaylen Brown went overseas. https://t.co/dw3ruCgrAY

If there’s any merit to that whatsoever (even the possibility), then the chances Jaylen comes here go from 0.1% to 0.0000000%…because the only reason to go the Mudiay route is to avoid school.

Can we only get Brown if Caris leaves now?

Can we only get Brown if Caris leaves now?

My guess is that if Brown wants to come here, we will find a spot for him regardless of the Caris LeVert decision.

Well what can they do? Kick someone off the team?

Hatch to medical.

I thought that they wanted to keep him on a regular athletic scholarship

Hatch aint going to medical unless he demands it himself. Beilein isn’t that kind of coach. It’s Levert to the NBA or nothing as far as Brown to Michigan goes.

When is he going to decide?

by april 26 right?

and if hatch isn’t going medical, and beilein serious about Kenny per everything we’ve read/heard from sam webb, does that mean caris actually leaning leaving? hence the desire to work multiple options? for caris, it worked out ok for mcgary despite not playing most of the year.

To be fair, there’s a huge difference between Mitch and Caris in terms of being ready for the NBA. Also, Mitch got this awesome deal with OKC based on personality and how everyone just likes him. I don’t see Levert having the same luck even though he’s a good kid (e.g. his bench mob actions probably didn’t catch the eye of a GM)

Hatch will go on medical when we need the scholarship. There’s no reason for Coach to say otherwise until it’s going to happen. It has been an incredible story and Austin will get his degree while being a part of the program. We can’t afford to short ourselves a scholarship though and I think this will play itself out eventually.

Hatch will go on medical when we need the scholarship.

I’m hoping this is the real story–as long as Beilein COULD keep him on the bench, bring him into games when possible, that was great. . . Question, though: he can still dress and sit the bench on a medical, or does he have to be in street clothes?

This is why I said take Brown’s MCDAA game struggles with a grain of salt.

Jaylen brown was banged up and didn't practice today at @JordanClassic

Brown interview with DX

Interesting development in the Jaylen Brown recruitment

@EvanDaniels I think the coaches would settle for him to returning a call or text, let alone an in-home visit

Borzello update

Jaylen Brown wasn’t made available to the media during the Jordan Brand festivities, but it probably wouldn’t have provided much information anyway: Brown has done a terrific job of keeping everyone in the dark regarding his destination. His list has expanded rather than shrunk during the past few months, with North Carolina, Michigan and California joining Kansas, UCLA, Kentucky, Georgia and Georgia Tech.

“We have no clue,” one coach involved in his recruitment said.

“He’s had little communication with most,” another one said. “I wouldn’t want to bet any significant amount of money on where he goes at this point.”

“I have no feel,” a third coach added. “He doesn’t talk to anybody.”

The No. 2-ranked player in the ESPN 100 hasn’t given a timetable for his decision.
