Game 8: Michigan vs. Kentucky Open Thread

I’m saying that no OOC wins of quality and 1 PG means it’s time to see what the young guys on the roster can do.

@umhoops where were ya sitting? Thoughts on the atmosphere?

Well I feel better about the team after the last 2 games, but Michigan will be heading into conference play behind the 8 ball again. Hopefully this growth translates into success during the Big Ten gauntlet.

Media seats were pretty brutal (endzone behind several rows of fans). Was a fun environment and at least they filled the lower bowl (top was closed down). Definitely a pro Kentucky crowd but there was a solid Michigan section.

I think they did a good job given the situation.

Were you tempted to slip out at half and go catch the England match at a pub?

Spent a long day in pubs for the USMNT the previous day

Did you see a lot of actual English people at the game out of curiosity? Holding this during a knockout round England World Cup game probably limited the number of locals checking out the game.

Yeah, there were some but not many. One guy behind us got kicked out in the first half because he was wasted and just screaming profanities at whoever touched the ball for either team

Obviously they didn’t plan on that and it was bad luck that it just happened to be England playing at the exact same time. That’s what I mean by the situation.

I respect a man who puts his money behind his takes. But I was ACTIVELY rooting against your bet, and you were the first person I thought of after the injury. Yep…your fault.

I like so many things about the concept of this team, but execution and bball IQ are just pretty low for the individual players right now. Even Hunter had the 1-on-1 postup opportunity with Wheeler on him (or somebody under 6’2), we got him the ball, and he didn’t recognize it. That’s just bad basketball.
