Game 8: Michigan vs. Kentucky Open Thread

It may not help much but remember where we were with the football team 2, 3 years ago. It looked bleak. Now look at where we are. This may be a lean year but the team will get experience and hopefully come back stronger. Also again the season isn’t lost yet. They just have to regroup and get back to the drawing board.

Dylan, how much weight does the selection committee give to “moral victories” (know that you are not a “bracketoligist” but i value your opinion)? Seeing as how college athletics is a furthering of the educational experience, one would think “moral victories” is probably right up there with SOS and overall record.

Kids been hot , can’t let him shoot out of everyone there.

Either way, this loss burns.

Really felt like they were the better team today and didn’t see the result.

Couple silly possessions when the game was in doubt ( Jett forced 3) , didn’t hit good looks or take control when they had the chances.

They forced a lot of turnovers and ugly kentucky possessions then would come down and miss a good look

Idk. Pretty frustrated.

Will be tough to overlook a 6-14 conference record though. Even if 10 of the losses are moral victories.

It was frustrating . Both have really smooth/ nice strokes. It was frustrating cause they ran garbage offense on a few and then each of them just turned and hit pro level shots.

I was more frustrated on some of the garbage buckets in the lane off crazy bounces or ugly looks they hit inside on bad offense that just worked out which were followed by Kobe, Hunter, or JL getting a really solid look and just missing.

The problem is we picked up moral victories vs Virginia and Kentucky, but picked up moral losses vs EMU and Ohio

If Llewellyn’s injury is serious we’re awfully close to “let’s see what some of the young guys who will be back next year can do” territory

With all the commercial timeouts I don’t think Dug will have any problem playing 40 minutes, if Llewellyn has a season ending injury.

I will just say I disagree.

What young guys do we have besides Dug?

Those were “learning experiences”. Welcome to the educators mind, where everything is reframed in a positive way

What type of production do you think they’d get from him? He’s no where close to being ready to play a Big10 schedule. He’s borderline unplayable right now. He just gets minutes because there isn’t anybody else to play.

Barnes, Tschetter, Bufkin, Reed, Glenn, Jett

Only like half the roster

To play the point guard position?

I think we’re saying the same thing, there isn’t anyone else, but I’ll say this it will forge him into being a great point guard by the end of year.

Rebounding is an issue with the team and specifically T. Wiliiams is getting killed on the deffensive rebounding. But its not just him. We don’t block out. Fundamentals.

I hope Jett is alright obviously

But LOL at “he has a serious injury - it didn’t prevent him from playing today at all and I will not provide any additional details whatsoever”

It was in the context of praising the trainer/Jett, but yeah.
