Hunter has been phenomenal, but we can’t expect him to keep this up against good conference competition. He’ll be good, but if we ask him to carry us against MSU/Illinois/Iowa we’re asking for trouble.

If Simpson could improve his horrid FT shooting early on Twill will be just fine! That’s a tough spot to not have taken a shot all game and then to have to go to the line like that!

I have said maybe he is not a good offensive player. I said offensive because he has been very good defensively.

At some point, good offensive players play offense well. Last year there were extenuating circumstances, but he has largely, in his career, not played offense well.

That’s right they just beat #15 Va Tech by 20 at their place. It’s not the PSU from the past on defense or 3 pt shooting.

Watching the last 15 minutes again and Lundy definitely traveled at the top of the key. Lotta bad reffing today. Still don’t like Eli getting called for 3 shots on touching the shooter’s hand, either.

I said Franz may not be a good offensive player, and people acted like it was unreasonable.

He has not played like one so far. Hopefully that changes.

Franz was 105.5 ORTG (107 in conference, 109 vs top 50 teams) guy last year on 18.6 USG. That’s above average, by definition.

Before today he was at a 121.9 ORTG on 19.5 USG. That will probably drop after today, but he will still be better than where he was at last year.

Franz can be disappointing relative to expectations through 6 games, while also still remaining a quality offensive player.

UMHoops in general is a much less toxic place then twitter or other Michigan related forums out there but with more interest in basketball it’s getting a lot bigger. Theres no need to broadcast every negative thought you have about the team.

Let’s not pile on players too much here. Especially with such small sample sizes and overreactions. We haven’t lost a game yet, if you’ve still got to complain about something go talk about Michigan football somewhere else.

I am truly not attempting to “pile on” Franz Wagner. I am saying he isn’t playing offense very well - or maybe more appropriately. as well as we need him to.
