Game 22: Michigan at Michigan State Open Thread

Good news: U-M played about as bad as they can and still down four

Bad news: U-M played about as bad as they can for the second time in three games.

Not the time of year for this to happen

Small silver lining to Eli injury
Zeb is gonna get serious minutes in a serious game with the starters.

He looked more comfortable than he ever has.

What a guy punch that is tho :frowning:

Lazy passes, bad jump shots, avoiding all contact on drives to the basket. His worst offensive half of the year.

Hunter and Franz might be a little gassed.

Man, Eli is so critical to our team. This is nerve-wracking

When ankles roll that severely, I realize how pessimistic I become in life

Well there is something weird about playing in Breslin. Illinois, OSU, IU - no one can shoot in this building.

Is it just me or is the fact that MSU’s starting 5 only scored 10 points in the first half the more relevant stat than their bench scoring 20?

Dickerson and Wagner play better in 2nd half and we got this.

The “bench points” stat confuses the heck out of me. Michigan could get a ton of bench points just by starting Howard, Williams, Nuñez, Wade, and Faulds, but I’m not sure it’d make much of a difference in their ability to win the game.

Hunter needs to develop a right-hand spin lay-in/hook move & improve his elbow jumper in the offseason. For now, he should get back to his quick spin fake, face-up, then power dribble and dunk/left-hand step thru layin that he was using with great effectiveness against tOsu

No one has said he is “automatically out”. Just reading tea leaves.

I expect to see him in a boot. Even if it’s just precautionary.

It’s still close, but Henry has done very little. Wagner and Dickinson need to have better performances to make it close. More concerned about Brooks but the offense needs to get going. This seems like a game where Henry hunts his in a tight game with 6 mins left.

Yes, this is not a habit you want to keep up.

What tea leaves are there? He has a walking boot on, which is normal after any type of sprained ankle

the iu, Iowa and first msu game weren’t exactly encouraging offensively either, just seems like we are trying to jam it inside way too much

I heard Iowa retired #55 after the game. So what number will Garza wear when he comes back for his COVID year?

What tea leaves? It’s called using your eyes. The injury looked bad when it happened and he could t put weight on it.
