Congratulations to Illinois. They played with energy and enthusiasm right from the start. We did not. Certainly they deserved to win. We did not. There is only one thing to do now. Vow not to let this happen again. This was NOT fun. Then, lace 'em tomorrow and get ready for Thursday. Go Blue!

Maybe. Coach Howard doesn’t seem like the sort of guy to skip out on a handshake after a tough loss. (Michigan’s other Coach JH? Yeah, I could see that…)
The Illannoy culture requires he hate Michigan. Underwood probably already hates Michigan going back to the 2017 team beating his OSU team. Coach Howard is loved in Chicago.

Sweet 16 for sure. Tonight we settled for a boatload of mid-range twos and hit nothing. We couldn’t get those in S16.

Yup, take 1 or 2 things that you can learn from this game to try and implement change for the next game. Don’t dwell on the myriad of problems. Turn the page. You’re getting ready to face your main rival at home again, so no travel.

That was very concerning going forward against the top teams. Our guards are going to keep having a tough time.
But, just beat MSU once and we win the Big Ten. That would be a heck of an accomplishment and I think a bit of an overachievement, as well, and a great coaching job by Howard if we pull it off.
