I also don’t like how we brought the ball up the middle every time. Good way to confront the 1-3-1 is to bring it up to a offset/wing position to split the middle defender.

They don’t have an adequate back up PG right now. Can’t get away with Brooks for more than a few minutes. Smith in foul trouble is not helpful.
If we were not shooting 37% from behind the arc while OU are shooting just 20% on their 11 three-pointers, this could have been far uglier.

Yeah… I kinda thought they would’ve worked super hard with Brooks on PG stuff given the roster. They probably did, but he doesn’t seem to have taken steps in ball handling or passing. I guess it’s not super fair to expect a senior to make a jump like that.
Difficult to understate how bad Oakland is. They probably aren’t going to play too much better offensively

No problem at all with the Livers/Juwan back and forth. Juwan knows what he’s doing. His best trait is player management. Livers has a lot of pride. I love the fire and want him to care.

I said this the first game. The pace Mike Smith plays with is special… He has been playing D1 ball for 3 years at the same height… He just has a feel for the game

Smith has 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 points tonight. All have come in this 1:15 minute stretch to open the half. Could have had a 2nd assist to Eli as well.
Brooks is having a poor game turnover wise…it’s not been his issue in the past and I’d bet it’s not even gonna carry over to this half.
