This is results based thinking over process based. Yes we could’ve made FTs to win this game. But with better rotations, and with not basing our offense around Austin Davis postups (?!?!?!), we probably win anyway

Who are we going to base it around?? Livers is out and no one else can do anything. JH is literally trying everything to generate some offense and even when we get wide open looks we miss. We just aren’t a good offensive team
I’m not sure what the lesson is when an 87% FT shooter misses both attempts there. Just a snakebitten stretch here.

Why are we terrified to shoot a clutch FT in our own arena? Same thing happened against Purdue, only they just missed their GW shot attempts.

Obviously it’s not like this is a team stacked with talent. But pretty much anything beats Davis postups. Let DeJulius cook a little for example. Brooks midrange game (I know he struggled mightily today but he’s capable). Anything other than the lowest percentage play in basketball made by a guy who is barely a D1 player

I actually Didn’t mind the Davis post up, he got a great look and missed. I do have a problem though with missing 5 straight free throws. Then z makes a perfect defensive play and he hits a great shot.

I don’t think it’s an outlier result for them. Underwood is recruiting well.
This team is finished. Juwan can’t make players grow. The defense was fine with how short the team was. They can’t shoot or hit ANYTHING. It’s a fatal flaw. Beilein just stopped recruiting wings and bailed bc he knew he had nothing.
Get the stud recruits and make some firm handshakes.
I don’t understand the idea that we should have won. Illinois is a better team and they won. End of story.
